Yoga with Tara
October 17th and November 14th | 12pm-1pm

You are invited to join us for Yoga with Tara! Beginners are welcome.

Tara became a certified yoga instructor in 2016 in order to share her passion for health and wellness with the community. Since the pandemic began, Tara has taken her talents to Zoom and teaches a weekly class to family, friends, and classmates. Tara primarily teaches Yoga Sculpt (think: hot yoga with weights and full body movements), but she also loves leading a slower paced vinyasa flow on occasion. From beginners to experienced yogis, Tara believes everyone can benefit from taking a few moments out of their day to reconnect with their mind, body, and soul.

Virtual Interest Pod (VIP) Socials
Are you interested in hiking, beer, gardening, DC sports, reading or more? Join a VIP to meet students with similar interests!

Here’s how it works…each pod will house a handful of fellow students who share your specific interests or life situation.

The small pod setup will allow for everyone to speak and connect outside of the classroom, in a casual and comfortable setting. We will meet virtually through Zoom and utilize Break-Out Rooms to connect students with similar interests.

Using your UMD Login for Zoom

All Zoom sessions now have a required waiting room. Waiting Rooms will automatically be enabled for meetings you have already scheduled. Participants who log into a UMD-hosted Zoom session using a UMD Zoom account (which requires logging in with a Directory ID and password) will bypass the waiting room.

Individuals who do not use a UMD account will be placed in the waiting room and will only have access to the session after being admitted by the host.

To prevent Zoombombing, instructors and meeting hosts are strongly discouraged from admitting attendees from the waiting room unless you have an extremely high degree of certainty about who the attendee is (for example, if you have invited an external collaborator to participate in your class or virtual event). Please be aware that guests in the waiting room with names that match students in your class should not be admitted--they could well be Zoombombers.

Students are expected to sign in with their UMD account for all classes. Those signing in with a UMD Zoom account for the first time should follow these instructions: Sign In to Zoom.

Additional information is available about security settings for Zoom meetings.

If you need assistance with Zoom or other IT services, please contact the IT Service Desk.
