I hope you will be able to attend the upcoming Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Meeting! The meeting will include a PTN symposium, providing our investigators with the opportunity to share their experiences and lessons learned from
more than a decade of pediatric research. More details, as well as a complete agenda, are included below.
Since our last POST, exciting PTN research was released that examines the systemic exposure of timolol as treatment for hemagiomas, or strawberry birthmarks. Check out the highlight below to learn more.
As always, we are thankful for everyone involved in the PTN. Your commitment to our mission of informing formulation, dosing, efficacy, and safety of drugs, as well as medical devices, used in pediatric patients makes a huge impact.

On April 28, PTN will host a symposium titled
“Clinical Research in the Pediatric Population: A Network Perspective,” at the annual Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) meeting in Baltimore, MD. During the symposium, p
articipants will learn about the PTN, its contributions to child health, and its unique perspectives as a network of more than 100 pediatric clinical research sites across the globe.
The symposium will begin with a brief overview of the PTN and the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA), which aims to encourage the pharmaceutical industry to perform pediatric studies to improve labeling for medical products used in children. Dr. Perdita Taylor-Zapata, Pediatric Medical Officer at the NICHD, and Dr. Kanecia Zimmerman, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Duke University School of Medicine, will provide opening remarks.
