New NICHD Strategic Plan highlights institute focus on therapeutics and devices for children. NICHD’s new strategic plan describes research goals and objectives that will help guide activities for the next 5 years. Among these is Scientific Theme #5: Advancing safe and effective therapeutics and devices for pregnant and lactating women, children, and people with disabilities . Check out the plan to learn more about NICHD’s research plans in this area.

Now available: Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA) Summaries. BPCA is now offering brief summaries of BPCA studies and findings to inform pediatricians and other providers about advances in a timely manner. Learning about these findings more quickly can allow providers and patients to benefit more quickly from the research. Visit the BPCA website to learn more.

Process for Sharing Data and Samples

Have you heard? PTN has a new process for requesting access to samples and/or data from its studies for additional testing. An investigator must access data and samples directly from the NIH Data and Specimen Hub (DASH) . See the PTN Data Sharing page for more information.
