Caps for Benches
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Borendame and Dr. Maddux went to Evansville, IN to pick up not one, but TWO Discovery benches from our cap collection. They are sitting in the front of the school, near the entrance.

We thank Mrs. Green, Ivey Bahoul and students on sorting the endless plastic, and to Discovery families for your support!

Shining a Light on a Special Area
Mrs. Shepherd will be spotlighting biographies in the month of February! Has your child ever checked out a biography? Encourage them to try one this month! Also, make sure you are saving the dates for our upcoming Spring Book Fair starting March 12th!
Dr. Kleppinger and Mrs. Waldecker want to thank all the students who came and performed in the City Schools Gala. The performances were just right and beautiful additions to our night of celebration.

Don't forget to add these performance dates to your calendars!

February 13th  - Kindergarten Program

April 9th  - Shine a Light on the Arts! with a special 4th grade recorder performance

May 7th  - Choir & Band Concert

Our older students are just finishing a unit on hands-only CPR training with Nurse Jennifer and our younger students are learning gymnastics skills now with a dancing unit coming soon.

Mrs. Turnbow would like to remind everyone how important it is to  wear tennis shoes on gym days , especially now that we are back on a four day rotation and gym day will land on a different day each week.
Ms. Allen is still looking fo r donations of new or gently used Crayola brand markers.  Students may drop those off in the art room anytime.

Makerspace and STEAM Lab
Mrs. Greene wants to give a very special shoutout to parent Ivey Bahoul for ALL of her help and all of her hours sorting caps and lids for our new benches. We couldn't have done it without her!

Ms. Greene and Ms. London continue to be so thankful for all the donations that have been made to help our STEAM explorations be a success this year!

Finally from all of us, don't forget to look for your student and their class in action on  Class Dojo ! Your special area teachers have been sharing some amazing photos that you won't want to miss!
