Sweetheart Dance Recap
Thank you to Brianne Jarvis & Heidi Collins for organizing and running a fabulous Sweetheart Dance!! Despite the pending snow storm over 100 people attended! The cafeteria never looked so good with 200 balloons adorning the ceiling and DJ Cubey spinning the tunes. Boys stay tuned for information on your special person day.
East Kids Care Fun Run Recap Thank you to everyone that supported the East Kids Care Fun Run!! While a little delayed the excitement of the run was finally felt on Valentines Day! What better day to have your heart pumping! The East Kids Care campaign was a true success!! The children reached their goal (and then some) of $12,000 and will be sliming their Principals on field day!! We will have a final tally of funds raised for the next newsletter as well as what the East kids were able to donate to the Hingham Police Department's K-9 unit. Pablo & Pedy, the K-9 officers will be very happy! Thank you again to all of the parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, and friends that support your children and made our fun run so successful!!
Make March Matter Book Drive
Two Hingham students are working on their Girl Scout Silver Award initiative by collecting used and new elementary level reading books (grades K-5) to benefit and bring literature to the students at Arnone Elementary School in Brockton. East School is joining in on the efforts! A collection bin will be located in the school from March 1-31. Please consider clearing your bookshelves of any extra books, purchasing your favorite stories to donate to our cause, and helping us promote literacy and the love of reading. Questions? makemarchmatter@yahoo.com or Heather Bastardi at heather.bastardi@cardio.chboston.org
Box Tops Submission deadline February 24th
Your school's Box Tops Coordinator needs time to bundle and submit everyone's clipped Box Tops by the Fall deadline of March 1st. Box Tops do expire, so please send in your saved Box Tops by Friday, February 24th. Thank you so much for your support!!!
Announcing Get Smart About Art!
Throughout the winter and spring, your child will participate in GET SMART ABOUT ART: a series of in-class, parent led workshops in which a particular artist and corresponding art style is introduced and a follow up art project is completed. Your grade level coordinators organize the workshops and each session includes a parent volunteer presenter and several parent volunteer art project assistants. Runs January - June with a culminating Art Show & Film Festival June 7, 2017 at 5:30PM. We need over 40 volunteers per grade (including those of you who love to present) to make these workshops a success so please be on the lookout for an email from your grade level liaisons closer to your grade's start date.
Get Smart About Art Leaders are:
WAHLBURGERS FundFare - Tuesday, March 14th
