GSAA Project Leaders: Please collect unused craft paper scraps or other supplies from GSAA that could be used for future projects. Some art projects actually call for random scraps!  Please c ontact  [email protected]  if you have left over supplies so we can add them to our PTO art supply bin.

TRASH-LESS TUESDAY: Please send your student in with a trash-less lunch on Tuesdays.  Reusable lunch containers on sale at the school store.


Make March Matter Book DriveBookDrive

Two Hingham students are working on their Girl Scout Silver Award initiative by collecting used and new elementary level reading books (grades K-5) to benefit and bring literature to the students at Arnone Elementary School in Brockton.  East School is joining in on the efforts!  A collection bin will be located in the school from March 1-31. Please consider clearing your bookshelves of any extra books, purchasing your favorite stories to donate to our cause, and helping us promote literacy and the love of reading. We invite you to visit our Spring Book Fair and get lost in a book with our featured theme, Happy Camper Book Fair: S'more Fun with Books!  Readers of all ages can celebrate the journey of being lifelong readers!

* Tuesday, March 21st:   8:30 - 9:30am &  2:30 - 4:30pm.
Wednesday, March 22nd 8:30 - 9:30am  &  5:00 - 8:00pm .  Ice Cream Social -  5:30 - 7:30pm .  Literacy and Math Night -  6:00 - 7:30pm .
Thursday, March 23rd :   8:30 - 9:30am 2:30 - 4:30pm  &  6:00 - 7:30pm .

Join us for the 5th Grade Ice Cream Social - March 22ndicecreamsocial 

On March 22nd from 5:30 - 7:30pm - after shopping at the Book Fair - head down to the cafeteria and enjoy Menchie's frozen yogurt or nut-free sorbet while supporting the 5th  graders.    Buy a bowl for just $3.00 - including an expanded toppings bar!   

The 5th Grade will also be selling 10 RAFFLE TICKETS for $5, for a chance to win a $150 Gift Certificate to any Hingham Rec program.  All proceeds help support the 5th Grade graduation, yearbook and end of year celebration.


4th Grade Field Trip to Museum of Science - March 23rdfourthgradeMOSFieldTrip

The 4th grade class will be going to the Museum of Science on Thursday, March 23rd. Buses will depart at 9:00am. Please make sure your child is on time for school. Children will return around 1:30pm.

Please send your child with a large, nut-free brown bag snack in the morning. They will eat this snack at the Museum at 10:00am. Please also pack a separate lunch.  They will eat this when they return to school.

NOTE: Please have your child wear his/her 4th Grade Spirit Day Shirt or orange color shirt.   This will make it easier for us to keep the children together while at the Museum.   


Hingham Girls Scouts Sock HopGirlScoutSockHop

Please join us on March 31, 2017 for Hingham's Girl Scouts - Sock Hop.  This year is Ladies Choice.  Pick your favorite Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent or Parent for a fun filled night of dancing to 1950's music by Zeal DJ, crafts and face painting.  This event will be held at the East School cafeteria from 7pm to 9pm.  $5.00/person or $10.00/ family.

Announcing Get Smart About Art!GSAADescription

Throughout the winter and spring, your child will participate in GET SMART ABOUT ART: a series of in-class, parent led workshops in which a particular artist and corresponding art style is introduced and a follow up art project is completed. Your grade level coordinators organize the workshops and each session includes a parent volunteer presenter and several parent volunteer art project assistants. Runs January - June with a culminating Art Show & Film Festival June 7, 2017 at 5:30PM. We need over 40 volunteers per grade (including those of you who love to present) to make these workshops a success so please be on the lookout for an email from your grade level liaisons closer to your grade's start date.

Kids In Action Before and After School Registration

Kids In Action Before and After School grades K-2,  will be holding registration for the 2017/2018 school year from  April 10 to  April 14. Registration will be held at South School from  4:00 - 6:00. Please enter South through the Kids In Action door, located by the playground.  Registration forms are available on line or at the event. A $25.00 registration fee (checks only)  is required to secure a spot. registrations after  April 14th  by mail only, sent to 220 Central Street.


5th Annual Hingham Sports Partnership Fashion Show Luncheon - March 24th

Ticket price is $85 until March 15th ($95 after).   Ticket price includes: three course lunch, wine, raffle ticket & Fashion Show.

HHS Sponsors the 30th Annual Hingham Antique Show and Sale at  Hingham Middle School


The Hingham High School is proud to sponsor the 30th Annual Hingham Antique Show and Sale for two days at the Hingham Middle School, Saturday, March 25th, 11-5pm and Sunday, March 26th, 11-4pm.

This year the show is celebrating 30 years of displaying antiques and vintage items including furniture, artwork, tools and jewelry.   This annual Hingham Antique Show & Sale is promoted by Goosefare Antiques & Promotions of Saco, ME. 

This year's sponsor is Hingham High School. All Hingham High School Classes will benefit directly from the show through ticket sales, a bake sale, the Show's program book and café. All fundraising proceeds help underwrite costs for Class gifts, Senior Prom and Graduation for all the classes.

Tickets will be sold at the entrance. Admission to the show is $7, but only $6 with the yellow discount cards available at Whitney-Gordon Jewelers, Bare Cove Auctioneers in Hingham and other local Hingham stores. Please bring your yellow discount cards for admission into the Show as it credits all the Classes.

Hingham Education Foundation (HEF) Happenings

Tuesday , March 21st: Please join us, along with Hingham Sports Partnership, at 7:30pm at HHS for an unforgettable speaker event with Kathi and Chris Sullivan. They will share their family's personal experiences with substance abuse as well as strategies for students to make more positive choices. Parents are encouraged to bring their children.

Wednesday , March 22nd 4-8pm Chipotle Derby Street Shoppes. 50% of all purchases will be donated to HEF when mentioned to cashier.
