Collicot Garden Committee - Volunteers Needed!
Hello Collicot families -
Have you noticed the garden growing at the back of the Collicot School, next to the playground? A group of parents and staff planted the garden in spring of 2015, and it's been thriving ever since. We'd love your help to keep it growing strong.
The Collicot Garden will be getting new wood chips this spring before spring planting begins. We are looking for volunteers on Saturday April 30th from 9-12 to help spread the new mulch. This will help with weed control and freshen up the area.
Please reach out to Katie Meehan if you are able to help for an hour or two. Many hands make light work!! [email protected] 508-254-0756.
The Garden Committee is also looking for new members! Anyone interested, please reach out to Katie. Gardeners and non-gardeners are welcome. Join to learn, or share knowledge, but more importantly to include the Collicot community in this amazing garden right at school.
Stay tuned for more exciting Collicot Garden news coming soon!

PHOTOS NEEDED!
Grades K-5
Each year the 5th Grade Committee creates a yearbook with photos of the graduating class from Kindergarten through Grade 5. Photos must be from school or PTO sponsored events and the best photos include 3 or more students.
We encourage parents to take photos whenever they volunteer in the classroom or for field day, field trips, etc.
We have a Drop Box account where parents can upload pictures into their child's class folder. The folders are organized by the year they will graduate from Collicot and will travel with them from year to year. We encourage parents to utilize these folders as a way to provide pictures for all to see and to help make the 5th grade yearbook that much easier to create. Please feel free to upload any pictures you may have from your child's time at Collicot.
Here are the links to the folders for each of the classes:
Class of 2022(Current Grade 5):

Girl Power Running Program - Starts Monday, May 2!!!
This is a FREE (volunteer parent run) program. The purpose of this program is to provide a come when you can, low pressure, confidence and self esteem building activity that encourages girls to work towards a goal, push themselves at a healthy pace and comfort level while supporting one another and participating in an outdoor, good for your body and soul activity. We will start with a walk/jog, everyone go at their own pace loop and slowly increase our distance with the end goal being to participate in our very own, Girls Rock 2K Road Race on June 6. This will be held at the regular 3:45 time and the course will be in Cunningham Park, details to follow as the date nears.
WHO:
Elementary aged girls
WHEN and WHERE:
The program will meet at the Cunningham Park tennis courts on Mondays beginning Monday, May 2. We will meet at 3:45 for sign in and warm ups prior to our run. Let’s go girls!!!
MONDAYS, May 2
May 9
May 16
May 23
May 30- NO Girl Power- Memorial Day
June 6- Girls Rock 2K
*Monday, June 6 (rain date Monday, June 13) Girl Rock 2K Road Race
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
*This is NOT A DROP OFF program. Each girl is required to be accompanied by an adult, often times one adult will be responsible for more than one runner but again it is NOT drop off. The program relies on parent and caregiver volunteers to stand at designated spots along our route for safety purposes. Some adults run with the group but you do not need to be a runner. We will need lots of “non running” volunteer help along the course.
*each girl should BRING A WATER BOTTLE with their name written on it to be left in the tennis courts for post run hydration
*and as much as we love dogs, due to safety and liability reasons there are NO DOGS allowed in the tennis courts and NO DOGS allowed to run with the group
*T-shirts will be available for purchase each week, $10 CASH only
REGISTRATION:
There is no formal registration however each girl MUST have a WAIVER FILLED OUT AND SIGNED including an emergency contact number prior to running (we will have waivers at check in each week)

Katie's Grace+Grit 5K
On May 14 at 10 am, the Glover PTO invites the entire Milton community to a new road race, Katie’s Grace+Grit 5K.
Katie Crowell was a dedicated member of our Milton community who gave 100% of herself in service to others. She was an advocate, a runner, a volunteer, a fundraiser, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. This amazing woman was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer (MBC) in 2015 while 32 weeks pregnant.
Katie’s impact surrounds us all—in her beautiful children, in her advocacy, in the lives of other patients who have gained strength from her, in the innovative research that is currently happening thanks in part to the money that she raised. Her impact and contributions will continue to inspire an untold number of future runners. Please join us in a very special 5k so we may honor Katie and continue raising funds to support cancer charities. Come show us your Grace + GRIT! All details and registration info can be found at this link.
