The new Summit illness policy has recently changed based on the new Department of Health guidelines.

If a parent, sibling, or other household contact of a student is experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, the student must stay home and quarantine for 14 days or until a negative COVID-19 test is provided for the parent, sibling, or household contact.

Again, students who are family members or household contacts of an individual with COVID-19 symptoms should quarantine for 14 days or until the ill individual tests negative for COVID-19.

Please contact your child's school nurse with any questions.

  • If the test is negative , your child can come to school once they are symptom free AND fever free for 24 hours (without any fever reducing medication).Your child's siblings may also return to school at that time.
  • If the test is positive, your child will need to isolate for 10 days from the start of the symptoms and your family will need to quarantine at home for 14 days.
