Happy December!
A word from your PTSA presidents

Wow, it's chilly out but who can complain as the sun is brilliantly shining and truly there is no prettier place to be than the Pacific Northwest on a crisp, clear December day!

As we look back this year, it's hard to imagine that 2018 is fast approaching and that 2017 has almost run its course.  On behalf of your PTSA, it has been an honor serving you this year and we look forward to ringing in an awesome 2018 together with you, our amazing Lakeview family.

Cheers and blessings for a magical holiday season.  Have a safe, fun and hopefully snowy winter break!

Pantry Packs
How many hungry students are at Lakeview?

It may be more than you think. The  Pantry Packs Holiday Hunger Campaign  by Feed Washington aims to raise awareness and funds to address weekend hunger school-by-school in Lake Washington School District.

The LWSD's Pantry Pack program sends food home with students throughout the district, including Lakeview.  They are making a push this month to raise enough donations to fully fund Pantry Packs through the school year. Each school has a goal amount to raise based on the projected number of students that will need weekend food there and how many dollars it takes to supply Pantry Packs to those students.

We could also use a second driver to pick up the pantry packs once a month; please contact Rachel Beto if you have a big car and are able to help.

Check out the Holiday Hunger Campaign page for specifics and links to donation pages for each school.  Please consider donating to close the hunger gap.

We appreciate your ongoing support of Pantry Packs!

Thank you
...to Rose hill Domino's Pizza!

We can't thank Rose Hill Domino's enough for their support of our classroom teachers and Homework Club.  Will, the manager, is supporting our tutors and Lakeview students with a pizza party every month in recognition of their hard work.  He has also extended a fantastic offer of $9.99 for a 1 topping XL pizza and $6.99 for a 1 topping Large pizza to classroom teachers and any school events.  We would love to support Will and our Rose Hill Domino's all year, so please give them a call the next time you want pizza (425) 828-3030.

Support LWSD Bonds & Levies
\Vote on February 13

We encourage all Lakeview families and friends to vote YES for the the LWSD Bond and two levies on February 13, 2018. The proposed bond includes a new elementary school in our learning community that will help alleviate overcrowding at Lakeview as well as an addition at LW High School among other building initiatives. The two levies pay for many things we might consider basic yet the state does not fund such as computers, playgrounds, heating, fire protection, substitute teachers, school nurses, Special Education staff and much more. See these fact sheets  for more details.

Here are things you can do to help:
  • Spread the word to your friends, family, neighbors and colleagues, even if they don't have kids in school. Here are the top reasons to vote YES. Even if you aren't eligible to vote you can still help by telling others.
  • Like the Vote For Lake Washington Kids Facebook page and invite your friends to like it.
  • Register to vote no later than January 15. It only takes five minutes and you can do it online.
