Teacher Appreciation Week
May 7-11

Staff Appreciation Week is quickly approaching and is a very special time at Lakeview. It's our opportunity to thank the wonderful people who educate and care for our children. Blank cards will be coming home with students so they can make a card or two for teachers and staff. Additionally, r oom parents will be reaching out to your regarding appreciation activities for your child(ren)'s teacher.

We also have daily activities for all staff including a staff breakfast, catered lunch, snack bar and more. And need your help to make these successful too!

Please considering helping with these items:
  • Donate a homecooked item for our Staff Breakfast on Monday May 7.  Click here to sign up.
  • "Adopt" a staff member.  This is for our hard working non-classroom teachers who support the whole school.  Write them a thank you note, leave a candy bar in their box, drop off a $5 Starbucks card, let them know how much we appreciate all they do.  Sign up here.

Join the KITE Stem Challenge!
April 23
Lakeview  students have an exciting opportunity to raise money for STEM related programs for our school! The KITE STEM Challenge is a 3-week competition open to all K-12 students within the LWSD.  The competition promotes STEM education while simultaneously encouraging students to get outside and enjoy Kirkland Parks!  Students or parents can sign up now at kitestem.org and start playing on April 23rd.  The bonus? Cash prizes total $40,000 and will be distributed to the winning schools. Take a look at this 3 minute informational video produced by a LWHS student!

Students can download the KITE STEM app to a mobile device starting on April 23rd.  The app will prompt them to answer STEM related, grade appropriate questions.  The more students participate the more chance your school has to win. Students that play outside in a Kirkland Park get even more chances to win!

More information can found on the KITE STEM website.
