Class Profile: Hand Tool Woodworking Series...And Announcing a Class Discount!

Have you been wanting to try woodworking with handtools? Envision yourself a future hand tool aficionado? Intrigued by the thought of woodworking without the noise of power tools?

Spend five days (or ten) and immerse yourself in the world of hand tool woodworking: e xperience the purposeful quiet of the bench room and the sound of sharp tools on wood.

Preserving the tradition of hand tool woodworking is at the core of the School's mission and practice. The course  Hand Tool Heaven was originally designed by Jim Tolpin, who has since passed the mantle to instructor Matthew Straughn-Morse.

In Hand Tool Heaven, you'll learn core hand tool techniques, along with plenty of tips and tricks. Comments from past students:

"Excellent information, good pace and reasonable progression of projects."

"I was excited to hear the history and principles behind every cut we do".

Deepen your skills with next-step courses: Just Joints, Joinery Essentials: Chisel Cabinet, Build a Side Table and Build a Workbench, where you'll refine techniques learned in Hand Tool Heaven and gain new skills- not to mention leave with a beautifully built project!
