Worship with Us this Sunday

November 20, 2022 | 10:00am In-person and Facebook Live or replay on Facebook later

Our scripture passages are Luke 1:68-79 and Colossians 1:11-20

It’s the last Sunday of the church year. Next Sunday begins Advent – our four week journey to Christmas. This Sunday we will think about who Jesus is and why God sent him. We will take a look at some of the many names that Jesus has.

We dedicated our financial pledges for 2023 last Sunday. Of course the Stewardship Commission is still welcoming them!

We will receive our annual Thanksgiving Offering for ECH – Every Child’s Hope

It all began many many years ago when the German immigrant farmers who founded our church filled pickup trucks with bounty from the earth they nurtured – and sent it to the German Orphanage which our UCC siblings started in St Louis. We continue to support the incredibly good work that is happening at ECH. Learn more here:

Please participate in worship virtually via our livestream on Facebook if that is convenient for you and/or if you have tested positive for Covid in the last 5 days.

Masks should be worn and respected for in-person worship under the following conditions:

1) You have tested positive for COVID 6-10 days ago and you still have symptoms;

2) You are in a high-risk group and/or have underlying conditions;

3) You are more comfortable wearing a mask.

In order to protect individuals and the wider community, we strongly encourage up-to-date vaccinations and boosters against all communicable diseases.

Creches on Display

Share a nativity scene with the congregation anytime after worship on Sunday, December 18 through Monday morning. Tables will be set up around the sanctuary for you to display any number of creches. No one will touch them as they enjoy them with their eyes and spirits. There will be note cards and tape for you to affix to the table in front of your nativity set with your name and anything else you might want to share about that particular creche. Please retrieve your creche(s) anytime after noon on Friday, December 23. Questions? Speak with [email protected]; 314-330-0629

Christmas Gifts for Children—Every Child's Hope

Parkway UCC Adopting two families for Christmas

The Parkway UCC Outreach Christmas Team picked two foster families to assist with Christmas wishes. There is a total of 12 children of various ages. Each child has three wishes, and the foster mother has added suggestions for clothes. You may choose to adopt one child, and the expectation is that three items would cost about $75. You may choose just one gift. If you would rather not shop, you can donate money, but please let Laura Waite or Carol Cobb know that you wish to do that. We will be collecting unwrapped items every Sunday. We also appreciate donations of wrapping paper. All gifts must be brought to PUCC by December 4 and placed in the CE Office. They will be delivered that week. We have posted the children's wishes on SignUpGenius –

You may choose a child or more to support.

In every raw emotion,

God journeys with us.

In every painful memory,

God offers us healing grace.

In every broken story,

God holds the pieces in love.

This is our God,

who accompanies and journeys with us

and we will follow,

into every future,

renewed in the grace,

that holds us always.
