Worship with Us this Sunday

September 4, 2022 | 10:00am In-person and Facebook Live or later

It’s the first Sunday of the month – we will celebrate communion at our open table; we will receive your gifts of non-perishable food items for our hungry neighbors; and the First Sunday Choir – open to all – gathers in the sanctuary at 9am to learn a simple song that will be shared in worship.

Our scriptures are Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18; Jeremiah 18:1-6; and Luke 14:25-33 where the case is built that we are meant to grow into more faithful individuals and communities over time. God is with us to help with this process. We are never left alone in it. We may find ourselves separating from some people because they seem to be hindering our growth, but the Holy doesn’t leave us behind.

St Louis County is now at CDC Medium risk meaning masking is recommended for those who have tested positive or are in high-risk populations. Therefore, we are changing our recommendations beginning September 11.

Please participate in worship virtually via our livestream on Facebook if you have tested positive for Covid in the last 5 days.

Masks should be worn and respected for in-person worship under the following conditions:

1)   You have tested positive for COVID 6-10 days ago and you still have symptoms;

2) You are in a high-risk group and/or have underlying conditions;

3) You are more comfortable wearing a mask.

Tuesday Afternoon Dialogue September 6

1st & 3rd Tuesdays | 1:45 Fellowship | 2:00pm book discussion| via ZOOM

We'll are discussing One Long River of Song: Notes on Wonder, by Brian Doyle. Borrowing from Amazon: From a "born storyteller" (Seattle Times), this playful and moving bestselling book of essays invites us into the miraculous and transcendent moments of everyday life." And, "Doyle often used his Catholicism to explore the human and natural worlds, but this is perhaps the most generous, universal 'religious writing' you'll ever read."

“Take me out to the ballgame.” Many kids today are talking about soccer. In fact, the world’s sport is soccer. Take a listen to this podcast if you are wondering and/or excited abut the new soccer team that is growing in St Louis. It’s a bit lengthy but a great primer for ST LOUIS CITY SOCCER!

(The episode starts about three minutes into this audio after the commercials)

Labor Day Humor

If people aren’t working, shouldn’t it be called “No-Labor Day?”

Did you hear about the Labor Day joke? It doesn’t work for me.
