Governor Sisolak Encourages Nevada Families to Sign Up for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program
On May 12, the Federal Communications Commission launched the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program, designed to help families and households struggling to afford broadband internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We learned during the pandemic just how important broadband connectivity is for work, education, telemedicine, and staying connected to family and friends,” said Governor Sisolak. “Today I call upon our partners in the telecommunications industry and those that provide employment and benefits assistance to help Nevada families sign up for this important program.”

The EBB program provides up to $50/month discount for home internet services and a one-time discount of $100 toward the purchase of a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

Households may qualify for the program if they participate in a number of different federal programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, or Lifeline or experienced income or job loss or furlough.
