Future 15 recipients honored at inspiring award ceremony

Last Thursday, PULSE held the annual Future 15 Awards Banquet at the Bridgewood in Neenah. It was a night of celebration as 15 young professionals with various backgrounds, professions, and community involvement were honored in front of a full crowd. A special shout out to Teresa Knuth and Scott Jensen, both current PULSE members, on their awards and recognition! We would like to congratulate all the winners on their achievements and their continuous work to better the Fox Cities.

Don’t worry if you couldn’t attend; Dale Carnegie is coming back to work with PULSE in 2023! A semester with Dale Carnegie begins September 2023 and will run until December. What a great experience it’s been, and we are so excited to offer it again next year.

Join a PULSE Committee

Looking to volunteer your time and make a difference in your community? Consider joining one of the three committees of PULSE! We have a Social, Professional Development, and Ambassador’s committee. These committees meet once a month for an hour to discuss their events and plan. There is an additional time commitment of 2-3 hours when planning events. This is a great way to get more involved in 2023! If you have any questions, please reach out to Jodie Federwitz, and she’ll get you connected.

Meet Brittany Helf

Commercial Loan Officer

Fox Communities Credit Union

Meet Brittany Helf! Brittany is a current co-chair of the PULSE Social Committee and works for Fox Communities Credit Union as a Commercial Loan Officer. She is a first generation high school and college graduate who moved up to the Fox Cities from Illinois, and is currently attending UW-Oshkosh for her MBA. She enjoys boating and relaxing on the lake when she isn’t busy exploring and enjoying area parks with her son.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

“My first career choice as a kid was a police officer, then I switched my career goal to corporate attorney in middle school. I was actually pre-law my freshman year of undergrad and decided to switch to business.”

What has been your favorite PULSE event?

“I really enjoy the Women in Leadership breakfast. It’s very inspiring and empowering to listen to other women share their journeys and explain how they have overcome challenges to be where they are today. It’s comforting to hear from those who are in leadership roles sharing their stories and letting other women know that they have been there too.”

Attend The Golden Rule Workshop from Common Ground

Common Ground believes that when people come together and have open, honest dialogue, they can create real change - in their communities, their families, and their world around them. But sometimes dialogue is difficult - especially across divides. That’s why we offer The Golden Rule Workshop (December 8, 5:30-8:30, in person at Acoca Coffee), to focus on developing the skills needed to build community, even when we disagree. To communicate well, even in the midst of differences.

With our workshop, you will be able to harness the power of inclusive dialogue to build stronger communities, establish stronger roots, and acquire stronger skills. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of yourself and others- and be better equipped to have meaningful conversations with anyone, anywhere.

Check out our website - commongroundfoxcities.org - for further information and to register.

Our Lead Team is also looking for young, diverse members to help direct our mission. If interested, please contact Jim Case at jimcase@tds.net.
