As Methodists, we are called to cultivate more disciples and deeper disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and world. You are invited to join us on the journey.

This week

Join Us for Worship

Join us for worship in the coming weeks as we explore themes of stewardship, celebration, and gratitude. We'll reflect on what it means to give of ourselves, celebrate the joys of community, and dive into Scripture to find hope, generosity, and trust in God’s promises, as well as give thanks for our blessings and grow together in faith.

Youth Fellowship: Walk Thru the Bible

Ever feel like the Old Testament is a bunch of stories you’ve heard, but you’re not sure how they fit together? On Sunday, November 8, we’re doing Walk Thru the Bible OT Live. It’s an interactive way to learn the big story of the Old Testament—and by the end, you’ll be able to walk through that story yourself.

We’ll meet from 4–7pm, with dinner included. Youth from other churches are invited, and you’re welcome to bring a friend! Parents are also encouraged to attend as well as our 4th & 5th grade students and their parents.

Looking Ahead

Brews & Hymns at Dugan's

Join us on Tuesday, November 17 for PUMC's first ever Brews & Hymns. We will gather with members from our Praise Team to fellowship and sing at Dugan's Pub in downtown Pinehurst from 6:30-8pm. Let's raise our voices and our glasses together with our community as we seek to make church more accessible for all.

If you have any favorite hymns you'd like to be included in the night's proceedings, please let us know by completing this online form. You may also leave your suggestions at the round table in the narthex before or after worship.

Chocolate Festival Meeting

Please join us for a Chocolate Festival meeting at 1pm on Wednesday, November 18 to see how you can be a part of this beloved community outreach project benefiting the Carthage Food Pantry, Kind Souls, and the Southern Pines Land and Housing Trust.

Women in Faith: Thanksgiving Potluck

Let’s gather around the table for good food, great fellowship, and a little Thanksgiving gratitude! Join us on November 19 at 6pm for a women’s potluck as we celebrate the blessings of friendship and community. Bring a favorite dish to share, and come ready to eat, laugh, and give thanks together. We can’t wait to see you!

RSVP on Realm (or fill out a slip from the Welcome Pad on Sunday).

Lunch & Learn: Senior Care Authority

Join us after worship on Sunday, November 22 at 12:30 for a presentation about approaching caregiving as sacred stewardship. Jim Kappelman from the Senior Care Authority will facilitate a conversation about how to honor our aging loved ones, care for ourselves, and effectively carry on our family legacies. Part of the discussion will focus on when to seek extra caregiving support and the resources that are available. Lunch will be provided. Please sign up on Realm (or fill out a slip from the Welcome Pad on Sunday) if you plan to attend!

Caroling Fun!

You are invited to join us for our second annual Christmas Carol event on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 6pm. As groups, we will be joyfully singing at three assisted living facilities for our friends in Southern Pines. Afterwards, we will gather for some yummy treats and warm beverages in the narthex. Fun for all ages! Please RSVP on Realm (or fill out a slip from the Welcome Pad on Sunday) so we can adequately prepare for each location.

Staying Connected

Memorial Garden Volunteers

David & Carolyn Womble and Jim Stafford pictured with some of the azaleas we received from a grant that Carolyn applied for to enhance the Memorial Garden. The Memorial Garden was created by Jim's grandson, Ben Wibbens as his Eagle Scout project in 2012. Since that time PUMC has interred the ashes of 48 beloved saints. Tending to the garden is a privilege and a blessing to our volunteers. If you are interested in being a part of the Memorial Garden Club, reach out to Carolyn Womble. You will indeed be blessed by this ministry!
