November 8, 2024

As Methodists, we are called to cultivate more disciples and deeper disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and world. You are invited to join us on the journey.

This week

Join Us for Worship

Join us for worship in the coming weeks as we explore themes of stewardship, celebration, and gratitude. We'll reflect on what it means to give of ourselves, celebrate the joys of community, and dive into Scripture to find hope, generosity, and trust in God’s promises, as well as give thanks for our blessings and grow together in faith.

A Salute to America's Veterans Concert

The PUMC Connections Praise Band presents "A Salute to America's Veterans: 250 Years of Heroes, and the Music They Loved" on Sunday, November 10 from 6:30-8pm in the sanctuary. Special guests include the 6 piece Carolina Moondogs horn section along with the Connections Band. Doors will open at 5:45pm. Admission is free.

Crackers & Fruit Cups

The Food Bank is no longer accepting our donations of cracker packs and fruit cups, they are using their own supplies to fill the weekly bags. Meals on Wheels has a need for these, so we have decided to partner with them for donations of cracker packs and fruit cups.

We continue to honor our weekly commitment to Meals on Wheels to provide 100 cracker packs and 100 fruit cups to provide snacks for seniors in need. Donations can be dropped off in the labeled baskets in the narthex.

Angel Tree 2024

Over 30 angels remain on our angel tree list. Click the button below to view the list of available angels. Then follow the instructions to sign out your angel and receive an auto response email with all of the information about your angel. The provided list is a wish list, you are not expected to purchase everything on the list, use it as a guide for purchases. The mission team also purchases food vouchers for each family.

Choose an Angel

Looking Ahead

Christian Encounters

The Christian Encounter Sunday School class will begin our Advent study of Louie Giglio’s

“Waiting Here For You An Advent Journey of Hope” on November 17. It is a 4 week study. The class will wrap Angel Tree gifts on Dec. 8th.

The product description from the book:

“In this four-session study, pastor Louie Giglio reminds us that it’s in the richness of Advent—a season of expectant waiting and preparation—that we find our answer. And it is throughout this waiting season that we prepare our hearts to greet December 25th with joy, peace, hope, and refreshed promise in our newborn King.”

The class meets at 9:30 in Room 114-C. If you are unable to attend in person there is a Zoom link available. For more information, please contact Lisa & John Bennett at ljbennett@twc.com.

Lunch & Learn: Hospice & Palliative Care

Staying Connected

Notes of Thanks

Dear Yarns of Love,

Thank you sincerely for your passion and witness to life with your recent donation of 12 beautiful baby blankets! You have bestowed an overwhelming blessing upon us so that we can help moms and babies. Your kindness not only lights the way for those we serve but also serves as a guiding star that leads us in our mission. We could not do what we do without you. You bless us!

With heartfelt gratitude,
