Advent Thoughts: A Video Chat with our Pastors
Advent Season is upon us at Pinehurst UMC. One of the beautiful things about Advent is the many ways in which it as a season can meet us where we are in our seasons of life in a transformative way. Advent is a time to focus on preparation, anticipation, celebration, and so much more.
Click the link to watch our Pastors engage in a brief conversation about what Advent means to them, historically and currently. We at PUMC hope that you will take the time to not only watch the video, but also to be present with us as we journey this Advent season.
The Season of Advent
The great proclamation “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us” assures us that God has entered into human history- God has moved into the neighborhood! With blessings of peace, love, hope, and joy, Advent is a season of anticipating the coming of Christ as a baby and in his second coming. How will you prepare and wait with expectation in this Advent season?

Attention All Lovers of Handbells
An effort is currently underway to help our PUMC handbell choir obtain a 5th octave in our bell arsenal. Most handbell music is written for five-octave choirs, while we remain at 4 octaves. The approximate cost of the 5th octave is $15,000. Some money is currently available in the Music Ministry fund for handbells. Additional support is welcomed and appreciated as our handbell leader, Darlene Skinner, and others seek to make the 5th octave a reality here at PUMC, so that they can continue to play for the Glory of God.
To contribute to the handbell project, outside of your normal tithe/pledge, please place the contribution in the Joy Box with a memo mentioning the handbells. If you give online, select “Music” from the drop-down menu to make your donation. If giving online, also please email to make our staff aware of your desire for the online giving to the music fund to be used specifically for handbells.
