Current Sermon Series
God gave us all our emotions- and whether or not you've seen Disney's Inside Out, you can probably relate to feeling like your own anger, fear, sadness, envy, or anxiety are taking over your head. How can we keep joy at the center? How can we be mindful of what all our emotions can do for us, as God intended them? Join us for our Fall sermon series, Inside Out, as we discuss what scripture, tradition, reason, and people's lived experiences of these big feelings have to teach us!

Stewardship Kick Off
Autumn will be here before we know it. Along with that comes some cooler things in the life of the church. A couple of those things being our Celebration Sunday and our annual stewardship campaign. The PUMC family continues to thrive, and has a lot to celebrate, because of our shared response to God's action in our lives, church and world. Check out this letter from Stewardship Chair David Yoder to learn more.

Feed the Hunger: Missionary from Ukraine
The Mission Team along with Feed the Hunger is honored to host Vitaliy Smolin of Open Door Foundation on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6pm. The community is invited to come learn about this ministry based in Ternopil, that works with orphaned children, underprivileged families, and elderly widows throughout Ukraine.
Feed the Hunger has partnered with them since the start of the Ukraine/Russian conflict by providing food, sponsoring students to evangelical summer camps, and providing winter coats and blankets during the cold winters.

Missionary Update
Hello Pinehurst UMC,
We are enjoying the last days of summer and the return of all things pumpkin, school starting, and aisles of Halloween items starting to appear in stores (although the heat doesn't make it feel that way). Our kids have had a great start to their school year and are enjoying their teachers and friends in their classes (Jairus started fourth grade and Talia started second grade). Jairus continues to enjoy karate and is about to enter a six-month-long training program to earn his black belt (you'll hear more in the video). Talia, after watching her brother for the last three years has also decided to start her karate journey as well.
Justin and my years have started very fast; however, we're already seeing God open up new doors in ministry. We're excited about what He might do this year. We're excited to share with you a quick update that continues the newsletter story about the work I've been doing with the transfer of the MuKappa ministry. Click video link below.
We continue to be so grateful for you and your partnership with us to reach every student on every campus with the Gospel. Please let us know how we continue to join with you in prayer for your church.
Kai Gibbons, Mission Expansion
