July 30, 2021
We are a Worship+2 church, which means we worship, learn, and serve! Where is God calling you to take the next step in worshiping, learning, or serving? See below for how you can grow.
WORSHIP
Current Sermon Series
"Why did you say that, Jesus?" is a question many of us may have had as we were reading scripture or listening to a sermon. Jesus often said things that can be difficult to understand. Join us July 11- August 22 for our newest sermon series as we explore some of Jesus' words on family, money, discipleship, the kingdom of heaven, and more.
Remote Worship
The early service will continue to be livestreamed and will be available live on Sundays at 8:15am or later on delay.
LEARN
New Member Class
There will be a new member class at PUMC on Sunday, August 15 from 2 - 4 pm for those interested in joining our church or learning more about church membership. Childcare provided. Contact Emil Johnson.
Interest Survey for Women's Retreat 2022
Pastor Katie is considering planning a women's retreat. Respond to this 3-question survey if you would be interested in attending!

Book Basket for Children
Look for a basket in the narthex tied with balloons this Sunday. In the basket will be books written for children ages 2-9. The books cover topics such as love, diversity, death, heaven, secrets, Jesus and others. They are written for children, but also great for moms, dads, grandmothers, granddads or anyone who is interested in instilling lifelong values for little ones.
Return the books to the basket after reading.
SERVE
Tie Mesh Bags for Society of St. Andrew
The Missions Team invites you to stop by the church any Tuesday in August between 1 and 3 pm to tie mesh bags for Society of St. Andrew. You can also stop in to pick up pre-cut mesh to tie at home if you prefer.

For more details, contact Ann Morse, Missions Chair.
School Supply Collection
We are collecting school supplies for Moore County students from July 18-August 8. Click the link for a printable supply list. Drop off items in the narthex in the missions' corner.

Financial contributions are also accepted. You can mail a check to the church made out to PUMC with "School Supplies" in the memo line or donate online and select school supplies from the drop down FUND menu.

Notes from the Congregation
To my PUMC family,

Words are difficult to express my sincerest appreciation for so many cards and calls from church members on the passing of my beloved husband, Tom Fletcher.  Without my faith, I could not have made this walk. I am so eternally grateful for PUMC. The support I received from Pastor Katie Tomlin and Reverend Jabe Largen, as well as Reverend David Beam, as he was packing to leave for his new church, Peggy Raney, Pam Martin and the Congregational Care Team, and Parish Nurse, Shirley Baldwin, truly held me up during the hardest time of my life. They were my strength alongside my family and dear friends. They comforted me, and continue to comfort me. Each step is a new one, and I thank each for walking with me.

Blessings,
Connie Fletcher
