If we are being honest, we the people of God known as the Church have to admit that some of the stories found in our Holy Scriptures are particularly peculiar. These stories are still important narratives in the story of God. Join us weekly for worship thru 9/6 as we engage in Strange Stories from Scripture involving a talking donkey, a disappearing sword, a bald prophet and bears, and much more.

End of Summer Pool Party

Join us at 12:30pm this Sunday, August 30th for lunch and a pool party at Pine Grove Village Pool (100 Laurel Ln, Pinehurst) to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year! Lunch is catered by Moe's. All are invited to join!

Meet new and old friends over a sweet treat! Join PUMC’s women for the last ice cream social of the summer from 6-7pm on Sunday, August 30.

Belong Short-study

As United Methodist Christians, we belong to God and one another. Join Pastor Katie September 8, 15, and 22 for a three-session intensive on our beliefs surrounding baptism, Communion, and our membership vows. Each session will include video, teaching, personal reflection, and group discussion. You are welcome to join for one, two, or all three sessions according to your interest. All sessions are 5:30-7pm. 

Youth Fellowship Kick Off

All students, 6th-12th grade and their families are invited to a Mystery Night Youth Kick Off on Sunday, September 13 at 5pm. There’s a mystery to solve—and we need you and your family on the case! Join us for dinner, a live CLUE game, and the inside scoop on this year’s youth ministry plans.

Service for Peace

Join us for an evening Service for Peace on Thursday, September 24 beginning at 6pm with light refreshments. The Service for Peace is designed as an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to gather in reflection and prayer, seeking peace within themselves, their communities and throughout the world.

Music will be an important part of the evening. Featured selections include Peace Like a River, We Shall Walk Through the Valley in Peace, Deep Peace and Shalom.

Volunteer with Family Promise

Family Promise is the nation’s foremost organization addressing the crisis of family homelessness. Every few months, we at PUMC have the opportunity to support our local Family Promise in Aberdeen with dinner and two overnight volunteers. Our upcoming host dates are September 28-29. Women's Study

Ever feel like you're waiting forever for God to show up? You're not alone. Women are invited to join us for this six-week Bible study and meet Deborah, a woman who knew something about divine timing that we desperately need to learn today. Deborah wasn't just sitting around waiting for life to happen. She was a warrior, a wife, a prophet, and a judge who understood how to move in sync with God's perfect timing. Starting Monday, October 5 from 6-7pm. 

Women's Retreat

Ladies are invited to join us for a weekend retreat October 9-11 in the mountains at Caraway! We will enjoy worship, rest, and fellowship, led by our guest speaker Rev. Marisa Gertz. Our theme is Draw Near: How Women in Scripture Can Help Us Draw Closer to the Divine. Spots are limited by Caraway’s availability, so register on Realm today!

Duke Day Football (vs UNC)

Duke Day is a day of faith, fellowship, food and football sponsored by the United Methodist Men. The day begins with a service and special guest speaker at Goodson Chapel in the Divinity School, followed by a tailgate meal and then attendance at the Duke-UNC football game---all for just $40 per person. Contact the church office to reserve tickets. Event begins on Saturday, October 17 at 10am.

Pastor's Cup - Save the Date!

It’s time to begin preparations and planning for the most prestigious golf event in Moore County and perhaps the world (depending on who you ask): The Sixth Edition of the Pastors’ Cup! Get to the range, start recruiting your team, and be ready to go at 7 Lakes Golf Club on November 7 at 9am. More details will be coming soon.

We recently started recording a highly secure East Asian language, the “Eb” language. For security reasons, Alan had to travel to a separate country in Asia for the recording and to meet with the field partners. Our makeshift studio was a personal music studio in the back of a contact’s house to avoid a paper trail or electronic records of us all being in the same place. READ MORE...

Life Care Pregnancy Center is looking for expectant mothers in their first trimester-early second trimester to be models during an ultrasound training event on September 15, 16 and 17.
