April 18, 2025

As Methodists, we are called to cultivate more disciples and deeper disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and world. You are invited to join us on the journey.

This week

Good Friday Tenebrae Service

Join us for a Good Friday Tenebrae Service with full worship choir on Friday, April 18 at 6pm as we reflect on the passion and sacrifice of Christ through scripture, silence, and the gradual extinguishing of light. This solemn and moving service invites us to enter deeply into the mystery of the cross and God's great love for us. Childcare provided.

PUMC 30th Anniversary Endowment Giving Challenge

The Endowment Team is encouraging each person who attends PUMC to make a contribution to the church’s Endowment Fund between April 27 and May 11. Since this is the 30th anniversary of our church, we are suggesting a contribution of $30 or any multiple of $30. A gift to the Endowment Fund is a gift that keeps on giving, because only the earnings are used to support unbudgeted needs or ministries, such as: choir chimes, handbells, hearing loop, patio and church van. Our desire is that each family will participate. Brochures with more details are available at the Welcome Center and by the water fountain. Any questions, contact Emil Johnson.

Senior Gift Baskets

We'd love to show our 6 PUMC high school seniors a gift of love as they embark on their new adventures after high school. Last week we had several Sunday School Classes and individuals sign up to purchase items for our High School Seniors. We still have several spots left! Please use this link to sign up for items to fill a laundry bag of useful items for life after high school. All items need to be brought to the church and placed in Thomas McDow's office by April 27. If you have questions, please contact Bridget Johnson/910-722-6237. A note of encouragement is always welcome as well!

Christian Encounters Class

The Christian Encounter Sunday School class will begin a new study on April 27 at 9:30 am in room 114A. “Who is this man? The Unpredictable Impact of the Inescapable Jesus” by John Ortberg. The 5 week study will discuss how Jesus and Christianity came to make an inescapable influence on our world and how we can make an inescapable influence as well. If you are unable to attend in person there is a Zoom link available.

For more info., contact Lisa & John Bennett.

Connections Sunday School

The Connections Adult Sunday School class will begin a new study on May 4 entitled "The Message of Jesus: Words That Changed the World" by Adam Hamilton. The class meets after the 9:40 service just beyond the nursery in Room 117. All are welcome!

For more details, contact Emil Johnson.
