September 23, 2022

As Methodists, we are called to cultivate more disciples and deeper disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and world. You are invited to join us on the journey.

This week

Join Us for Worship

Join us for worship for the September Series: Elijah: The Troubler of Israel. Elijah was a prophet, calling the people to repentance when they strayed from God. Through this sermon series, we will journey with Elijah through many trials and miracles. God cares for Elijah at every turn, and we, too, may experience God in new and future-giving ways. We, too, may learn anew about the inescapable wonder of God's grace that finds us, feeds us, and uses us for God's glory.

AGAPE Shoeboxes Due

All boxes are due back to the church by this Sunday! Snap a pic of you with your box and text to Thomas/910-391-6677 or email to the church office. We will print out all of the photos and send them in a card to Ron McGaughey. Ron and his late wife, Dita, began the AGAPE Shoebox Ministry at PUMC. This will surely brighten his spirits!

Safe Sanctuary Training

Are you interested in volunteering in the children or youth ministry? Would you be interested in visiting church members through congregational care ministry? Do you currently volunteer and it’s been a few years since you were trained? If so, sign up for safe sanctuary training on Sunday, September 25 at 4pm. Training is at the church and usually lasts about 45 min. Email Holly McDow to sign up or ask questions.

UMCOR Disaster Response

Hurricane Fiona, the first major hurricane of this year's Atlantic hurricane season, caused catastrophic damage in Puerto Rico, brought torrential rains to the Dominican Republic and has battered Turks and Caicos and Bermuda. It has left millions without power and running water.

Join us in prayer for the communities that have been affected so far and those still within Fiona’s path. Consider making a gift to support the work of U.S. Disaster Response.

Thank you!

Dear Pinehurst UMC,

Thank you so much for your continued support of our club and the young people who rely on us during out-of-school time!

The backpacks and school supplies that you collected and gifted to many of our club kids were such a blessing ahead of the new school year! We are so grateful for your continued involvement on "Happy Feet" day with the Rotary Club of Pinehurst. Thank you!

With gratitude,

Caitlin Terry, Director of Development
