January 14, 2022
As Methodists, we are called to cultivate more disciples and deeper disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and world. You are invited to join us on the journey.
Special Event
Saturday Worship
You are invited to join us for a special Saturday afternoon worship experience on January 22 at 4:30 pm. In order to meet the needs of those who have not felt comfortable worshipping indoors, masks will be required at this service. Pastor Jabe will be delivering a special message, along with special music from Tom Bernett.
This week
Updated Service Information
Due to the forecast of potentially inclement weather on Sunday morning, please check WRAL Channel 5 for cancellation of services. If services are cancelled, there will be a prerecorded remote option available on our YouTube page. An email regarding our decision will go out Saturday evening after 6 pm. If the weather conditions are dangerous in your area use your own judgment regardless of the church's decision.
Current Sermon Series
New year, new...who? The new year is a perfect opportunity to start fresh, and the Bible is full of stories of beginning again. Join us the first 4 Sundays in January as we take a fresh look at changed lives in scripture, and see how God makes us new, too.
Christian Encounters Class
The Christian Encounter Sunday school class continues a 5 week study entitled: In the Dust of the Rabbi, Learning to Live as Jesus lived by Ray Vander Laan. The class meets at 9:30 in the last room on the right in the classroom hall. Zoom capability is available for those unable to join in person. For more information, contact Lisa and John Bennett.
From the Finance Office
If you used contribution envelopes last year, your 2022 envelopes are available for pick up in the narthex this Sunday or next week during regular business hours.
Looking Ahead
New Member Class
There will be a new member class at PUMC on Sunday, January 30 from 2 - 4pm for those interested in joining our church or learning more about church membership.

Contact Emil Johnson to register.
Chocolate Festival Postponed
It is with deep sadness that we announce the postponement of the 2022 Chocolate Festival at PUMC. With COVID cases soaring, and thus putting a strain on the overall health system in Moore County, the timing is not good for this year’s event. All proceeds next year will still benefit Moore Free & Charitable Clinic Dental Clinic Startup, Tambra Place, and MMIA – Military Missions In Action.
Crackers and Fruit Cups
We continue to honor our weekly commitment to the Food Bank to provide 100 cracker packs and 60 fruit cups to provide snacks for children and seniors in need. Donations can be dropped off in the labeled baskets in the narthex.

The office will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17 in observance of MLK Day.
