We love finding events for the entire family, and that includes a few select date night events as well as family-friendly events. September was busy, but the October Calendar is filling daily and more keeps coming in.
Facebook just let us know that you can now like and/or follow us. That's a good idea because frequently we share not-to-miss events on our facebook page after the newsletter is sent.
It doesn't have to come out of Hollywood to be a creative, interesting, entertaining film, in fact it may even be better! The proof is in the plethora of exciting films in the upcoming film festivals in Santa Cruz (Oct. 6 - 9) and Watsonville (year-round screenings). Set aside some film time for relaxation, edification, entertainment and surprises! All films are free except the opening and closing events.
Have fun! Parmalee

Educators, That's US --Parents, Students, Teachers!
Resources to get students thinking strategically
It’s September, which means it’s time not only for pumpkin-spiced everything, but also … it’s International Strategic Thinking Month! Of course, here at The Tech Interactive, we recognize the importance of strategic thinking year-round, but we’re always down to celebrate brain power, so let’s dive into some of our favorite lessons! Model UN is found in a handful of schools in the region, but there is an opportunity to expand this offering by helping students learn the academic and debate skills needed for successful MUN participation. From this foundation, additional regional conferences can be organized. Get details > > >

Santa Cruz World Harmony Chorus
Invites Children to Join!
|
|
Ages 9 - 99 welcome!
The World Harmony Chorus fall session is starting up, and we’ll be singing songs from Scandinavia to Brazil, and many places in-between. The Santa Cruz chorus rehearses on Tuesdays, 6:00 – 7:30 PM, starting September 20.
Everyone is welcome, there are no auditions and no singing experience is necessary. Experienced singers are also welcome, and there are solo opportunities for those who would like them. All parts are taught by ear, and musical transcriptions are provided.
All ages 9 through 99 are welcome. The chorus will perform several times throughout the year, principally in December and in the spring.
If you’ve never experienced the magic of singing in a choir, or if you’ve always thought of yourself as someone who “just can’t sing”, this is a great way to start.

Plan ahead!
Some popular events have limited space and will run out of available tickets! Look ahead on the October Calendar.
For example: Do you have your tickets for Thomas and Percy's Halloween Party? Details
