Student Input Session

Please join us on Wednesday, May 12 for a virtual student input session as we plan for the 2021-22 school year. We want to hear what your hopes for next school year are, and listen to any concerns or suggestions you have to inform our efforts moving forward.

Our intent is to plan in earnest for a full-time return for all students.

Please find information to join our town hall below!

The School Quality Stakeholder Survey is now open through May 17!
Our School Quality Stakeholder Survey is now open through Monday, May 17!

The survey allows you to give feedback on a variety of areas including student support, academic preparation, school leadership, family involvement and the district's handling of COVID-19. The results of the survey will help PUSD identify areas it’s doing well in, as well as opportunities for growth in order to best serve students.

The online survey is offered in English, Spanish and Chinese. Students and staff, please check your email for an invitation and survey link. Parents and community members can take the survey at pusdedu.info/2021sqsurvey. All responses are strictly confidential.

For more information, please contact Patrick Gannon, [email protected].

Recognizing Symptoms of ADD and ADHD

Today there is greater awareness of the challenges of diagnosing girls with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD). Their tendencies to mask their inattentive traits and internalize their feelings make their symptoms harder to recognize. As a result, they are often diagnosed later in life, after comorbidities have begun to interfere with healthy behaviors, when unhealthy coping skills start to undermine their sense of self. However unintentional, later ADHD diagnoses increase the complexity of treatment. Parents or caregivers can support their students by familiarizing themselves with the symptoms of ADD/ADHD and seeking advice from their pediatrician if they are seeing evidence that their student may be struggling.

Foothill Student Presents Health Minds Project

We are excited to share that one of Foothill High School’s freshmen, Thrisha Gogineni, was awarded the Hershey's Heartwarming Young Heroes Grant. Thrisha’s goal for her “Healthy Minds” project was to create Wellness Bags filled with self-care items, including stress balls, fidgets, bubbles, affirmation cards and a self-care card with links to online Wellness Resources. Her project was a huge success and feedback from students was extremely positive. We are so proud of Thrisha!
