Parenting Tips from your School Social Worker Team
Signs and Symptoms of Anorexia
Anorexia nervosa is a type of eating disorder where someone is dangerously underweight from restricting their food intake. Some signs that your child may be struggling with anorexia nervosa include: extremely restricted eating, extreme thinness, mild anemia, brittle hair and nails, dry and yellowish skin, growth of fine hair all over the body, or lethargy. Parents or caregivers can support their children by seeking immediate medical attention if they observe symptoms of anorexia nervosa, as this can be a life threatening condition.
