Parenting Tips from your School Social Worker Team
Setting Boundaries For Phone Use
New apps are coming out everyday and your student has access to all of them. It is imperative that parents or caregivers stay on top of current apps and set boundaries for what their students are permitted to access on their phones. Parents or caregivers can stay on top of the current trends with apps by using websites such as iParent or caregiver.tv. This website explains popular apps and things that parents or caregivers should be aware of for each app, so that parents or caregivers can make informed decisions about which apps their child is permitted to use. Brought to you by your PBIS School Social Workers.

Alisal Elementary Celebrates Different is Awesome Week
This week, Alisal Elementary found a way to celebrate their annual Different is Awesome Week remotely! Each day, a staff member virtually read a book that celebrates diversity. Students also filled out a "Would You Rather" poll and were given a "Be Different -- Be You" spirit day challenge to do something different!

Check out Wednesday's video of Mrs. Johnson reading "It's Okay to Be Different"!
