Parenting Tips from your School Social Worker Team
Exercising Effectively
Exercise is a very important component of helping your student stay healthy and their brain prepared to learn. However, too much activity or exercise can turn aerobic activity into anaerobic activity, causing the student’s neurotransmitters to get depleted. When this happens, we often see behavior deteriorate, sometimes leading to meltdowns or tantrums. Parents or caregivers can support their students by watching their individual child’s signals to prevent them from getting overstimulated. Brought to you by your PBIS School Social Workers.
Celebrating our pUSd Community
PUSD Students Make The All-State Honor Bands!

Congrats to our students who made it into California's 2021 All-State Honor Bands! Musicians from Amador Valley High School, Foothill High School, Pleasanton Middle School, Hart Middle School and Harvest Park Middle School got into the bands, playing a variety of instruments including the trumpet, tuba, and clarinet.

18 Amador Valley students made the bands, making it among the top 3 high schools in the state with the most students accepted!

"While I am proud of how the accomplishments of these students reflects on our music programs, I am even more proud of how they reflect the support of an entire community that stands behind each of the students," Amador Valley High School Director of Bands Jonathan Granthan said. "That PUSD musicians are so well represented year in and year out at the state level is a testament to the hard work of each student with the support of their families and teachers."
