Dear Sea King Families,
I want to start with a big thank you to our entire Sea King community for all you are doing to help us keep our campus safe. We all have the same goal of keeping our students learning in person in a healthy environment. This can only continue to happen when we work together as a collective community and follow the strategies in place to minimize the spread of COVID. I am very proud of our students and how they have continued to protect one another and follow our guidelines while at school. Our teachers have done an excellent job of supporting our school community while offering reminders to our students regarding these guidelines. It is this collective effort that will keep our students learning on campus in a healthy and safe classroom environment.
As we know, the COVID positive cases are increasing across our community and the county. It is critical that we remain vigilant in following the district mitigation strategies to minimize the spread of COVID. Please keep your students at home if they are not feeling well and experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms. We will work with each of you to support your students' continued learning while they are out of school due to illness. Remember to contact the attendance office to report any absences.
Please remind your student to wear a mask properly at all times while on campus, both indoors and outside, except when actively eating and drinking. Upgrading your student’s mask is an important recommended step. A close-fitting cloth mask can be worn on top of a surgical/disposable mask to improve the seal of the mask to the face. Masks will continue to be available in the offices and at entry points of campus should a student need one.

As we continue to navigate these challenging times as a school community, it is important that we face this as a united Sea King family. While we may not always agree with all the guidance, we can agree that our number one priority is our students: their physical health, academic success, and emotional well-being. Let's continue to approach one another with grace and compassion. I am confident that working together, we will successfully navigate this difficult time and become a stronger Sea King community.

PVHS COVID Positive Reporting Form
To streamline communication for COVID case reporting, we are asking families to fill out the form below if their students test positive for COVID. This will also be a way for us to respond much more efficiently and effectively to our students and families.

PVPUSD COVID Testing Information
Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District continues to offer testing to PVPUSD STUDENTS and STAFF only. Regular Testing Hours from 12:00 p.m. with the last test at 4:45 p.m. No appointment is necessary, but students do need to register in advance. South Bay Families Connected:
Focus on youth wellness
Finally, after a full year of distance learning, some students have, understandably, experienced the return to in-person learning as a social challenge. PVPUSD partner South Bay Families Connected (SBFC), a network of 115 schools in the South Bay, has organized Teaching Social Skills: Resources for Parents and Guardians, which contains a video featuring students at local schools, including PVPUSD’s own Rhys Moon, sharing their perspectives regarding the social ups and downs of returning to in-person learning. There you will also find some useful tips to support your children and teens as they develop and refine their own social skills.
