Dear Sea King Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend including some much-needed rest! We are heading into the last week of April and our students are diligently preparing for their upcoming Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Our teachers and students have been working hard to prepare for these culminating exams and I am confident that our students will have extremely successful exam sessions. AP exams will begin on Monday, May 2nd, and continue through Friday, May 13th. Additional information regarding the AP exam schedule has been sent out to registered students. The exam calendar can be found HERE.

Last week, our Be the Change (BTC) Leadership program coordinated a successful Diversity Week on our campus. This is always a special week for our students to celebrate our differences and share unique stories. This year, we added an opportunity for our teachers to celebrate our students with the "Teachers Choice Awards", a lunch honoring selected students for their kindness, leadership, and contributions. I truly appreciate all the work our BTC students leaders put into this week, along with their amazing teacher, Mrs. Kostrencich.

We are anticipating the return of our traditional Project Runway event this week. This fashion show is a wonderful way for our students and school community to give back to others. Please join us this Wednesday and Thursday night for an evening of fashion and fun. A special thank you to Ms. Secrist and Ms. Barton for their coordination and dedication to this program.

I continue to be grateful for this opportunity to work with our PVHS students, faculty, staff, and families. Have a great week Sea King Family!

Sincerely,

Dr. Trista Ramirez
PVHS Principal

DIVERSITY WEEK AT PVHS!

To celebrate Diversity Week, BTC hosted a number of our events on campus this week, including interactive events for students, cultural performances by student and community groups, and our yearly food fair!

The PVHS teachers celebrated our students this week with the "Teachers Choice Awards" luncheon. Students were selected by their teachers for recognition based on their leadership, generosity, and kindness in the classroom and on campus. This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our students and their accomplishments.

For our annual Buddy Basketball game. Red Tide, Cheer, Song, and our students packed the gym to cheer on and support their fellow Sea Kings. Great job to all of the players!

And finally, PVHS Sea Kings wrapped up our Diversity week with our annual Day of Silence event. It was a meaningful day of recognition and support for the LGBTQ+ students and community.

Thank you to all of our Sea King students, faculty, and staff that participated in all of our activities and events this year.

Boys' Varsity Tennis
Varsity Tennis had a busy week this past week!! Tuesday, they played at Mira Costa, and galloped over the Mustangs, 11-7!! The next day, Redondo came down, and our Sea Kings reigned over the Sea Hawks, 13-5!!! Afterwards, the 5 seniors - Ben Jorgensen, Tristan Messerli, Scott Shimoyama, Sebastian Schoepke and Kai Teshima were honored and celebrated with donuts!! Thursday, 3 of our PV boys played in the Ojai CIF Tournament. Tristan Messerli played singles and Ben Jorgensen and Nathan Blakey played doubles. They played well and won their matches on Thursday. The following day after some rain delay, matches resumed, and although they fought hard, they did not advance. SO PROUD of our Sea Kings who gave it their all!
