NEW: Weeding Weekends in Palo Verde Neighborhood!
|
Plants - wanted and unwanted - are popping up all over Palo Verde Neighborhood. While we support ‘feeding the bees,’ we also want to encourage you to keep your property and surrounding areas of responsibility tidy and free of invasive weeds.
Submit your weeding before & after photos now through end of May to win prizes!
Assorted prizes, such as gift cards and discounts to local businesses, will be distributed on a rolling basis now through end of May. All valid submissions will be entered to win one of ten $25 gift cards. We’d like to share your photos (anonymously) on PVNA channels to help inspire others to get out and weed.
Know your areas of responsibility for weeding:
- Your property
- The right-of-way & curbs
- Half of any alleys behind your home
Win additional prizes for special categories:
- Best alley cleanup
- Best right-of-way cleanup
- Best yard cleanup for each quadrant: Southwest, Northwest, Northeast, Southeast
We encourage you to avoid the use of toxic herbicides. See our tips for weed control on the PVNA blog.
Enter to win by emailing your name, address, and before & after photos to info@paloverdeneighborhood.org. You may include a brief quote or yard tips, if you’d like. (Your address will not be published; this will only be used to validate entries)
If physically or financially unable to do the manual labor yourself, please contact us and we can try to pair you with volunteers who can help. Know a neighbor in need who may be offline? Ask them if they’d like us to organize volunteers on their behalf.

City of Tucson announces the People, Communities and Homes Investment Plan Survey
|
The People, Communities, and Homes Investment Plan (P-CHIP) creates a framework for investing in communities experiencing vulnerability in Tucson. P-CHIP identifies key priorities eligible for support from Tucson's federal and local funding sources, administered by the City of Tucson Housing and Community Development Department. The funding goes towards homeless services, housing stability, neighborhood enhancements, and more.
We're updating P-CHIP and need your input!
In this survey you'll identify and prioritize Tucson's biggest challenges when it comes to creating equitable access to opportunity and let us know what we should fund to address those challenges.
