Planned Improvements for Country Club Rd

As a follow up to their presentation at a recent PVNA board meeting, last week we received the following update from City of Tucson Transportation & Mobility regarding planned improvement projects on Country Club Blvd.

You may have noticed activity on Country Club over the past couple days. This is part of the work associated with Prop 101 Package 10. The City's Project Manager sent the following information:

It is correct that a fog seal is planned for Country Club in 2023. Attached is the page from the Prop 101 program schedule with the list of segments in Fog Seal Packages 9 and 11 and a map of each. The two packages are combined into one construction project and the contractor is planning to start crack sealing and pavement patching Monday July 10.

The work will be done in two phases:

  • Phase 1 (60 calendar days) - crack sealing and asphalt patching
  • Phase 2 (90 calendar days) - fog sealing and striping
  • Phase 2 is not expected to start until around mid-October due to temperature requirements for application of the fog seal material.

Upcoming Palo Verde Events

Monthly Walk and Talk on Saturday, July 29

Join us on Saturday 7/29 at 7 a.m. (early to beat the heat) to meet new neighbors, reacquaint yourself with folks you know and share concerns with PVNA Board members and volunteers while we give some love to several neighborhood blocks. The first area we will address is Bellevue between Country Club and Howard.

If you are driving, please park on Howard and walk towards Country Club. We will assemble at Bellevue and Country Club and finish at Howard, so please join us there or park nearby on Howard or Bellevue.

Trash bags will be provided. Please bring sun protection, water, gloves, a bucket and a trash grabber if you have one. Bring weeding tools if you’d like to be on weeding duty.

Walk & Talks will be a regular occurrence, so save the date and stay tuned for PVNA events every fourth Saturday!
