Volunteer Training

Seminar

June 9

10 am to 4 pm

163 Queen Street East

Fourth Floor

PWA is proud to have an incredible team of volunteers who are essential to our mission of providing support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Our volunteers are integral to our operations, contributing their time and skills across various roles such as administration, front desk operations, therapeutic care, and more. We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team and make a meaningful impact in our community.

We are excited to announce an upcoming volunteer training seminar on June 9th, from 10am to 4pm, on the 4th floor. This seminar is a great opportunity for new volunteers to learn more about our organization, understand their roles, and receive the necessary training to excel in their volunteer positions. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a supportive and dynamic team, we encourage you to apply and attend our training seminar. Join us in our mission to support and empower those living with HIV/AIDS.

Men of Courage

Men of Courage is a community of heterosexual men aged 40 and above, united by a shared commitment to personal growth, mutual support, and collective well‑being. We believe that every man deserves a safe, empowering space to connect, reflect, and thrive.

Our Purpose

We exist to foster the growth and development of every member—socially, emotionally, medically, mentally, and spiritually. Life presents challenges, and no man should face them alone. Men of Courage provides a brotherhood where support is real, consistent, and meaningful.

Our Activities

We meet once a month to discuss issues that affect us individually and as a group. These gatherings create opportunities to:

  • Strengthen bonds through open conversation
  • Share experiences and solutions
  • Support one another through life’s transitions
  • Build confidence, resilience, and purpose

Beyond discussions, we also socialize and unwind through games, group outings, and shared meals. Our monthly lunch gatherings help us deepen friendships and enjoy time together outside formal meetings.

For more information or to register please email Peter Olakudu polakudu@pwatoronto.org

Michael Stoyles

PWA Toronto is very pleased to welcome Michael Stoyles, formerly of ACT, who has joined PWA as the +40 Social Coordinator.

Michael has been living with HIV for over 30 years and shares that, over time, HIV has changed for many people and continues to evolve. He brings more than 16 years of experience supporting folks living with HIV, along with a strong commitment to community care.

In his new role, Michael will be connecting with existing clients and welcoming new ones to help grow and strengthen the program. He’s excited to work together with clients to make the most of our resources and ensure everyone gets the best possible value from the program.

You can connect with Michael at mstoyles@pwatoronto.org—he looks forward to hearing from you!

Elevator

Repair

Update

The elevator’s new hydraulic tank, which was damaged last January, was delivered last week and its installation was successfully completed on May 13, 2026.

As our building is an older one, we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that the elevator system is fully operational and completely safe for everyone to use before it returns to service. Our Contractors have now submitted the completed repair to the TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority), and we are currently awaiting an Inspector to visit our location and conduct the required assessment and approval process.

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and continued support throughout this extended repair period.

Financial

Assistance

Program

PWA regrets it cannot offer the Financial Assistance Program due to financial constraints. Please consider donating so that others might benefit from the return of the Financal Assistance Program.

Closed: July 1

PWA will be closed on Wednesday, July 1 in observance of Canada Day. Our offices will resume usual business hours on Thursday, July 2. Happy Canada Day!
