You Are A Most Special Gift From God!

This is a special fall issue of the PWI E-Newsletter informing you about what God is doing through the global ministry of Prayer Watch International.

We live in challenging times and prayer is more important and necessary than ever. Jesus encouraged his disciples to " always pray and never give up" ( See Luke 18:1). He told them the parable of The Poor Woman and The Unrighteous Judge. The woman's situation was bleak indeed because the judge "did not fear God nor regarded man" (Luke 18:2). He only responded to monetary contributions. However, the poor woman did not have any money to bribe the judge. But Jesus said she had something else: persistence !  She approached the judge daily for justice until the judge gave in to her request in order to get rid of her! Jesus said we should pray like the poor woman - with  persistence and perseverance !  Let us today favorably respond to Jesus' encouragement to persisting prayer!

On behalf of Prayer Watch International (PWI), I would like to take this opportunity to thank God for His faithfulness and generosity to the mission and ministry of PWI. Special thanks go to you, our prayer and ministry partners, around the world. God bless and reward you for your perseverance in intercession and for your dedicated support of God's Vision of Prayer given to the Body of Christ through PWI!

LORD, shower Your love, joy, and peace on all PWI's faithful prayer, financial, and ministry partners around the world in Jesus' Almighty Name. Hallelujah!  Amen.
Suddenly!

By Pastor
 Bjørn Pedersen

Have you ever noticed that there are many "suddenlies"  in the Bible? According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, t he word  "suddenly"  occurs  more than 40 times. Some of the "suddenlies" are very well known Biblical events.  Others are more obscure.

The Luke 2:13-14 passage is the story of the shepherds receiving the Good News of Jesus' birth from the Lord's angel. After the message was delivered, " suddenly " a great number of angles appeared to the shepherds. The angles were praising God, blessing all people with peace and bringing glory to God's name. This " suddenly " of angels everywhere must have been a spectacular sight that took the shepherds by total surprise. It overwhelmed them and changed their lives forever!

"Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying.
'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men
on whom his favor rests'"  Luke 2:13-14

In Acts 2:2, we read about the arrival of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. God couldn't resist the temptation to make this most important event, the birthday of the Christian Church, yet another "suddenly" experience. "Suddenly
, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting." This was more than a life-changing experience for the disciples; it literally launched a whole new epoch in God's plan for planet earth - the beginning of the Christian Church! And it is still going strong!

Saul's conversion is recorded in Acts 9. How did it all start? You guessed it - with a divine "suddenly!" "As he (Saul) neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?'" ( Acts 9:3-4). It was Jesus stopping Saul in his tracks and calling him to become an apostle of the Lord to bring the Gospel to the gentiles in Saul's known world. Another event of enormous importance to the Christian Church and the kingdom of God!

This was not the only "suddenly" experience for the Apostle Paul. In Acts 16:26, Paul and Silas found themselves in prison. At midnight, the servants of the Lord are praying and singing hymns of praise. Then something supernatural happened in their jail cell. "Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose." God's "suddenly" led to the conversion of the jailer and his entire family and the release of Paul and Silas from jail!

One of the events described in Scripture frequently uses the word "suddenly." It is the second coming of Jesus. This signature and "sudden" event of the Christian Church and the world is foretold several places in the Old Testament. In Ecclesiastes 3:1, we are told that no one knows the exact time and it could "fall unexpectedly on them" ("suddenly").

As we have seen from the above study of Biblical "suddenlies," God brings "suddenlies" to reveal Himself and His divine purpose. They certainly demonstrate God's power and majesty.

Let's take a closer look at God's "suddenlies" for us and our times:

1.  Jesus is getting ready to return. He will come "suddenly" so we need to be prepared for His second coming. God's "suddenlies" should encourage His people to be prepared at all times. See Luke 21:8, Luke 21:34-35 and Luke 21:36.

2.  We live in a special season of the "suddenlies." Rapid changes are taking place and the pace of transformation will greatly accelerate as the Christian Church is closing in on Jesus' return. After all, Jesus is coming for a Bride who is "spotless and without wrinkle" (Ephesians 5:27). Many "suddenlies" will need to occur to prepare the Bride for the coming Groom in the short time-table available for Jesus return. Keep your spiritual and physical eyes open to see God's present day "suddenlies!"

3.  God's "suddenlies" occur at the intersection (I do believe we can add, intercession) of God's time and God's promises. As God's people worship and pray in accordance with God's will and time, standing on His promises, we may be closer than you think to God's  end-time "suddenly!"

You are blessed with God's "SUDDENLIES" during this special fall season
and always until Jesus returns for His Bride!

PWI International Visitors to Arizona

It is always a special joy to receive international visitors to the Prayer Watch International Headquarters in Arizona. It is not a daily experience so when it happens, it is a precious blessing.

In September, PWI-Norway leader, Magne Drageland and his wife, Annlaug, visited the PWI Headquarters in Arizona, USA.

Guest Reception for Mange & Annlaug Drageland of PWI-Norway
They arrived in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, September 4. On Thursday morning, September 6, Magne and Annlaug attended the weekly PWI Prayer and Worship Meeting at the PWI Phoenix Studio in Sun City (the home of Pastor Bjørn and Phyllis Pedersen). For the occasion, the PWI Phoenix Studio was decorated with the flags from Norway and the USA, as well as the Christian Church flag. During the Prayer Meeting, the Dragelands received prayer ministry and prophetic words from the other participants.

Immediately following the Prayer Meeting, a Guest Reception for the international visitors was held. Magne and Annlaug brought a greeting from PWI-Norway and from the PWI Prayer Missionaries in Lyngdal and the surrounding area of Southern Norway. It was a festive and blessed time to get better acquainted with PWI-Norway and its leaders, Magne and Annlaug Drageland.

In the following days, the international guests traveled from Phoenix to Flagstaff in Northern Arizona where they stayed with Julie and Mick Vlieg. Julie has stayed in the Drageland home on several PWI Prayer Mission trips to Lyngdal, Norway. While in Flagstaff, Magne and Annlaug were able to see globally recognized tourist attractions such as the Grand Canyon and Sedona (the Red Rock Mountains).

On the weekend of September 8-9, PWI launched a new prayer conference teaching entitled, "Sharp and Alert for the Return of Jesus: Maranatha, Come, Lord Jesus." It was held at Hope Community Church in Flagstaff, Arizona. Pastor David Reynold warmly welcomed all prayer conference participants to his home church in the beautiful ponderosa pines of Flagstaff.

Conference Worship Team
On Friday evening, the opening session of the prayer conference, Magne and Annlaug brought a message from PWI-Norway and the prayer ministry they are doing in Norway. It was especially inspiring to hear about the plentiful fruit from their prayer ministry in Lyngdal, Southern Norway, and beyond. PTL!

Several speakers participated in the prayer conference, in addition to the Dragelands. Pastor Karol Brecheisen, Pastor Miriam Perry, Pastor Steve Brown, Prophet/Intercessor Ginny Britt, and Pastor Bjørn Pedersen were part of the Flagstaff speaker/teaching team. What a joy to see and hear so many of the PWI teaching team members who have been involved in PWI global mission and ministry!

Wendy Brown, Jessica Grant, and Ginny Britt were the Worship Team for the entire prayer conference. They led the participants into the presence of God - so we could worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. PTL.

PWI extends a warm appreciation to all who were "on team" for the Flagstaff prayer conference. You are greatly appreciated and cherished!

After some time, Magne and Annlaug returned to Phoenix/Peoria to spend a couple of days with Pastor Karol Brecheisen and her husband, Dr. John  Mauk . During the stay, the hosts brought them to a number of important Phoenix attractions. A most blessed time was had by all!
Pastor Karol Brecheisen praying over Magne and Annlaug

They were able to have lunch with Marilyn Jensen  while in Phoenix. Duane and Marilyn had stayed with the Dragelands in Norway during a PWI Prayer Mission. It was a joyful reunion!

PWI is also grateful to Shelley Hedlund who graciously let Magne and Annlaug stay in her Westridge Village townhome during their stay in the Phoenix area.

The Dragelands returned to Norway on Monday, September 17.

It was a great joy and a special privilege to host Magne and Annlaug in Arizona. They are a special gift from God to our global PWI Prayer Ministry. God bless you abundantly. Come back and see us soon!

We Thank God for Pastor Duane Jensen

On April 22, 2018, our friend, PWI prayer teacher and Holy Spirit champion,  Pastor Theodore Duane Jensen, went home in glory to be with Jesus, his Savior and Lord.

Pastor Duane was an avid supporter of Prayer Watch International. During his ministry in Bountiful, Utah, he participated and served in several leadership capacities. He, with Pastor Karl and Nancy Kruse, were catalysts of great growth for PWI in that state - assisted by Lynn Carson and other PWI volunteers. He even arranged for PWI to have an office in Utah!

Duane and Marilyn served on several PWI teaching and ministry teams. They went on a number of domestic teams to Arizona, New Mexico, Minnesota, and Utah. As mentioned above, the Jensens were on PWI Prayer Mission teams to Norway and Germany, among other engagements including PWI Prayer Cruises.

Pastor Duane was an anointed Biblical scholar with great insight into Scriptures. He had the ability to draw upon his daily experiences to make Biblical Truth come alive. It was refreshing to hear Duane share the Truth boldly and forthrightly! He also had a wonderful sense of humor. Duane was also an anointed mentor for believers who sought to grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord.

We miss you, Duane. May God grant you eternal peace and rest in the presence of God, our Eternal and Almighty Father!

Prayerforce - Kids' Praise and Prayer

A Kids' Praise and Prayer weekly gathering started this fall in Hailey, Idaho. It offers kids time to sing fun worship songs and participate in a prayer activity.  It has been great for parents with young children to enjoy time together and with other families, learning praise songs and easy prayer practices. Last week, the group made a prayer craft with jars, craft sticks, leaves, and stamps as a reminder to pray for friends and family.  The group also often prays for countries around the world by using an inflatable globe. After passing the ball around singing, "He's got the whole world in His hands," the kids lay hands on the globe and pray for the country or region that was last touched.  The kids have also learned the "PDF" prayer (Protection, Direction, Favor) - which is a simple, easy to learn, yet power-packed prayer for them to pray anytime, anywhere.

A special thank you to Pastor Karol Brecheisen for providing numerous ideas and recommendations for kids' prayer activities!
