Lower Elementary students will take their mid-year MAP test this month to measure progress in Math and Reading.

What is MAP Testing?

MAP, or Measure of Academic Progress, is an adaptive test given 3 times a year in August, January, and May. Teachers use this data to improve learning for all students and to work with parents to make informed decisions that promote a child’s individual academic growth. Your child’s guide will communicate your child’s score and growth from August during Parent Teacher Conference week at the end of January.

Arrival & Dismissal

Be a team player! Pull your car all the way down the line!

Pulling your car all the way down is critical in maintaining traffic flow. When you leave a big space in the line, everyone waits longer.

Student Arrival - 7:30 - 8:00 am

  • For safety, please remain in the car until a staff member opens the car door.
  • We encourage families to have student car seats on the passenger side.
  • Tardy Policy - Students who arrive after 8:00 am will be counted as tardy. For Dallas ISD attendance and tardy policy click here.

Student Dismissal - 3:15 pm

  • Car tags: Remember to have your car tag visible in the carpool line.
  • Carpool Route: To reduce traffic, you can take a right on Wozencraft Drive when exiting. Check out the map below for the most efficient carpool route.
  • Buses: Interested in skipping the carpool line altogether? To register for bus transportation please email Melanie De Santiago and complete the 2022-2023 CHOICE BUS STOP REGISTRATION FORM

Here are some tips to stay safe and healthy:

  • Flu season runs through March; it is NOT TOO LATE to get a flu shot!
  • Stay hydrated and eat an extra orange, grapefruit or Kiwi fruit – all high in Vitamin C!
  • Get fresh air and exercise - even taking a walk is great!
  • Wash hands often!
  • If someone in your family is sick, dedicate a drinking glass and silverware to the person so germs are not passed to others.

Hoping for great health in 2023!

Gladis Gramajo, RN, School Nurse

The dress code is an important part of our school's culture and climate. Our goal is to provide safe, distraction free and productive learning environment.

Where to purchase uniforms?

Please label ALL your student's items! We want to keep hats, mittens, coats, water bottles, etc. out of the lost and found. It is much easier to return misplaced items when they are labeled.

MESSAGE FROM GUIDES

We are so excited to welcome students back to the classroom on Monday. You can help propel you child's learning in the classroom with conversations at home. We invite you and your student to watch the Montessori Material videos below. Engage in conversations and ask questions:

  • How have you used this material in the classroom?
  • Was this work challenging? What was challenging about it?
  • Do you enjoy working with this material? Why do you like this work?
  • What are you thinking of working on next?

Having these conversations at home will help solidify work happening at school. And, foster an enjoyable learning experience at home and school!
