PYSC August Update
Since we launched the report of the Task Force on Sports Based Youth Development, PYSC and our partners have been hard at work to begin expanding access to SBYD programs. We are working with the Mayor's Office of Education to develop pilot programs to be launched this fall, and exploring opportunities with other Task Force partners including Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the School District of Philadelphia. We are convening leaders in the field of training and professional development to develop a trauma-informed youth development training. Questions about how we're bringing the Task Force recommendations to life? Email us at info@pysc.org.

Member Focus: Philly Girls in Motion
Philly Girls in Motion (PGIM) empowers girls through sports and fitness to develop self-awareness, build confidence and drive personal growth. Through community-based sports programs as well as after-school fitness programs, PGiM is committed to giving girls an opportunity to exercise and learn sports such as basketball, lacrosse, volleyball and rugby, in a safe , supportive environment with quality, professional instruction. The variety keeps girls engaged, excited, and gives them an opportunity to find healthy activities they enjoy- all at low or no cost. PGiM also hosts events to bring fitness opportunities to the broader community including sports clinics with Division 1 athletics programs and a 5k walk/run just for girls and women. See more about their incredible work here:  http://www.phillygirlsinmotion.org/
