Message from Executive Director

Sara Nunez

Pace Center for Girls Broward celebrated Women’s History Month in a BIG way! Our annual Believing in Girls Empowerment Luncheon had record attendance and the most incredible performances and testimonials from Pace girls. They truly are the VIPs for us each day!

We also launched our new Teletherapy platform, which will help eliminate any geographical barriers to girls receiving high quality gender-responsive therapeutic services.

Every day at Pace is all about the girls, but this month we celebrate their strength and courage even more!

PACE CENTER FOR GIRLS LAUNCHES TELEPACE: EXPANDING VIRTUAL THERAPEUTIC SERVICES TO SUPPORT GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN

Pace will provide girls aged 11-17 in south and west Broward County with free virtual therapeutic services.

"Expanding access to mental health services is crucial, particularly for girls who may face barriers to traditional care,” shared Sara Nunez, Executive Director of Pace Broward. “Our goal is to ensure transportation and finances don’t become a barrier to providing the essential services that girls need."

Weekly teletherapy sessions, lasting six-to-eight months per girl, will be provided at no cost by Pace therapists, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Devices and internet access will be provided to families without technology resources.

The program aims to empower girls to voice their experiences, realize their potential, and lead lives defined by responsibility, dignity, and grace.

WHY PACE?

I was first introduced to the Pace Center through Leadership Broward. I chaired the class and Pace was a non-profit working together on a project for the center in Fort Lauderdale.

As I was taking the tour, I can still remember the immediate feeling of instantly wanting to give back to this program and couldn't help to think about my own daughters.

I attended two of their fundraisers and started learning more about the huge impact this organization had on the lives of their students; but more than that, I learned how many girls were living in such traumatic environments.

I am blessed to have two young girls, 3 and 5 years old and my heart breaks imagining them being in these situations.

When I was asked to join the Board of Directors, it was really a no brainer for me and my family.

,

I am proud to commit resources to such a worthy cause & I will be proud to show my girls the power of this program so they can grow up and continue the legacy of giving through The Pace Center for Girls.

CELEBRATING GIRLS IN SCIENCE!

At Pace, we are committed to helping close the gender gap in STEM.

We believe in a more inclusive future that attracts and supports diverse voices.

Our holistic model involves mentoring, life-skills coaching and supporting girls in exploring career and college readiness.

Providing our girls with new experiences opens pathways to a brighter future.

Let's continue supporting and inspiring the next generation of women in STEM.

Thank you to all our science teachers for your work in closing the gender gap in science and to all our team members for igniting our girls interests in a multitude of careers!

A REASON TO SMILE!

We would like to thank the American Association of Women Dentists NSU Chapter team led by Anna Spiller for their amazing, creative, and inspiring presentation about dental careers and oral health and hygiene.

Over 30 students attended the workshops and were given goodie bags and dental hygiene packs.

We enjoyed the innovative way they presented their material and many of our girls had awesome questions.

Our girls at Pace Broward were thoroughly engaged and were intrigued by the various career paths.

MS. NICOLE HENRY SINGS HER PACE HEART OUT!

We would love to extend a big thank you to our guest performer and jazz singer extraordinaire, Nicole Henry for her outstanding performance and inspiration for our girls.

She honored our dearly beloved and late Whitney Houston by singing songs which inspired our girls and moved their hearts.

We appreciate Ms. Henry for taking the time out of her busy schedule to inspire, mentor and speak life into the lives of our girls. We are so grateful!
