2024 Small Business Financing Panel

Andrew Flamm, Regional Director of the Pace SBDC, kicked things off with a small business financing overview and a review of SBDC programming, and also introduced NYS Senator Brian Kavanagh and Lawrence Singleton, Dean of Pace’s Lubin School of Business, for opening remarks. NYS Regional MWBE opportunities Expo Series

The Pace University Small Business Development Center teamed up with SBDCs from Baruch College and York College on tabling at the 2024 NYS Regional MWBE Opportunities Expo Series. Our team had the opportunity to network with small business owners to discuss strategies for helping them access procurement opportunities, and the important role NYS minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) certification can play in achieving their business goals.

ESD Commissioner Hope Knight also unveiled the agency’s “Sail-Thru Summer” initiative, providing a streamlined process to expedite certification determinations, with eligible participants potentially receiving decisions in as few as 90 days. Commissioner Knight also encouraged small businesses to work with SBDCs in completing their NYS MWBE certification applications.
