ASBDC Conference
Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm attended the America's SBDC conference in Nashville, where he led a training session on Host Institution Engagement Strategies, highlighting programming our Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) team has implemented in conjunction with our host, Pace University - Lubin School of Business. Andrew also connected with SBDC colleagues to share small business advisory best practices and strategies to maximize community impact, and attended insightful professional development training sessions in support of our small business clients. Website Development Event
On September 14th, 2023 the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted a "Website Workday" for entrepreneurs and small business owners in partnership with the New York Public Library's Thomas Yoseloff Business Center. Business owners and Pace SBDC Business Advisors and Interns all collaborated to meet and conquer each entrepreneur's individual website goals and challenges, because a business' website should be a tool to drive sales and not a massive headache. Client Success Story - Leidylicious
Leidy Cardona's dream of opening her own bakery came true in 2022 with help from Pace SBDC and Business Advisor Sandra Cely. Leidy, known for her exquisite cakes, also influences the Hispanic community on social media. Sandra assisted with location selection, financial projections, advertising, and online presence. Additionally, she connected Leidy with NYC Business Express for permits and compliance. The grand opening drew notable guests including Mayor Eric Adams and Commissioner Kevin Kim. Read more here.
New York Forward Loan Fund
The New York Forward Loan Fund (2nd Round) is a state-funded program that provides loans of up to $150,000 to eligible businesses at an interest rate ranging between 9.5% and 12.5% depending on the length of the loan. The state-sponsored program is designed for stable businesses looking to grow. Businesses must demonstrate they have the ability to repay the loan through previous or projected cash flow.
