MEMO 400 Kick for Time

Back by popular demand for the 8th year! MEMO does this as a repeating set and wants everyone to join in. Performed in an organized, supervised USMS practice, this is a great way to prepare to use those legs all throughout the swimming season. Information and Registration.

TAM Miracle Mile Postal
January 1-February 28, 2020
Swim a mile and help fight lung cancer. 50% of the proceedings will be donated to Go2 Foundation for Lung Cancer (formerly Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation). As in previous years, team efforts are encouraged.TAM Masters has donated over $14,000 over the past seven years using swimming as a resource to benefit our community. Information and Registration.

2020 USMS 1-Hour ePostal Nationals
January 1-February 29, 2020
TAM Masters is hosting this National event. The objective: To swim as far as possible in one hour, in any pool you choose, 25 yards or longer.

2020 Santa Rosa SCY Resolution Meet
Saturday, January 11
Santa Rosa Masters is excited to host the 2020 Resolution Meet. This is Pacific Masters' first pool event of the season. Grab a teammate or two and check in to see where your times stand this early in the season. Information and Registration.

The Olympic Club 1500 SCM
Saturday, January 18
You'll have to move fast to get a lane in this year's TOC 1500. This fun
meet is limited to the first 120 swimmers and quickly fills up. Get your entry in early.

Pacific Masters Annual Meeting and Celebration
Getting up at 5 AM on a Sunday morning is only worth it-- if you get to swim. The annual meeting of the Pacific Masters, held at St. Mary's College in Moraga November 17, provided that opportunity and so much more. Olympic gold medalist Aaron Peirsol fit right in as he shared the secrets of his amazing backstroke, graciously signed autographs, and spoke of his personal journey. the day was so inspiring, we have two articles to share with you.

2020 Age Group Competition - New Rules
As the new year approaches, we invite you to look back on the 2019 Age Group Standings (not yet final) and begin your 2020 competitive season with the Santa Rosa Masters Resolution Meet on January 11. Starting this year, w
e will be expanding the points awarded (over the SCY
, LCM, and SCM seasons) to 20 places (from 10 places in past years). This new awarding system is only for Pacific Masters and is not applicable to USMS. Full rules are here. Remember, points can be earned in 8 disciplines, so try swimming some new events.

New Palo Alto Masters
Seeking Head Coach and Support Staff
The new Palo Alto Masters is searching for a head coach and support staff in time to start the new year. Palo Alto Masters will be replacing the long standing legacy team Rinconada Masters, and will base out of the iconic Rinconada Pool. There are opportunities within the organization to expand the role to a full-time position which would include medical, dental, vision and 401K benefits. Please email

a cup of coffee or warm holiday eggnog and settle in for 45 minutes of a real open water treat.
Watch as marathon swimmer Lewis Pugh attempts an incredible course around the English Southern Coast, casting light on the pleasures and challenges of open water swimming while emphasizing the importance of environmental issues confronting us today.
