Splash and Dash Sprint Pentathlon
February 22
This meet is short and sweet with 50 yard races in all strokes, capping the pentathlon with the 100 Individual Medley. Special awards to high point winners in each age group. To add to the morning fun, relays are offered to swimmers who may want to top the day with the 200 Free Relay or the 200 Medley Relay. Both relays will be mixed (2 men and 2 women). Warm lunches will be sold at the meet.

The City Mile
February 23
After Albany's short and fast events, distance swimmers will have another shot to race the following day at the San Francisco City Mile.
Held at City College of San Francisco, this meet offers the season's first opportunity to swim the 1650 short course yard freestyle race. This meet is unique in that swimmers are recognized for finishing within two seconds of their seed time. Entries are limited to 96 swimmers, so sign up early! Information and Registration.

University of San Francisco Leap Meet
February 29
This meet is designed with sprinters in mind! The University of San Francisco Leap Meet features 50s and 100s of fly, back, breast and free. Registration is open.

TAM Miracle Mile Postal
Swim a mile and help fight lung cancer. 50% of the proceedings will be donated to Go2 Foundation for Lung Cancer (formerly Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation). As in previous years, team efforts are encouraged.TAM Masters has donated over $14,000 over the past seven years using swimming as a resource to benefit our community.

USMS One-Hour ePostal Nationals
Swim as far as possible in one hour in any pool you choose that is 25 yards or longer. Event results are sent in electronically so you can compare yourself to other swimmers doing the same event. Some people do the One-Hour ePostal event for competition, while others do it for fitness; all who wish to participate are welcome.

Coaches Eye Clinics for New Masters Coaches
Masters coaches who are either certified Levels 1&2 (or not) and who are interested in developing skills in teaching swim technique are encouraged to the following Coaches Eye Clinics. These clinics are for you if you have less than three years experience coaching masters. Additionally, these clinics are geared to equip individuals registered with USMS who are considering becoming a masters swim coach. The cost is $20 per session.
After each session, a discussion and a time of questions and answers will follow. All sessions are on Saturdays, 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Albany Aquatic Center outdoor pool in Albany, CA.

Swim Clinics in the East Bay
Beginner-to-Intermediate masters swimmers who need help with certain aspects of technique may attend any of the clinics listed below. Each session is limited to twelve swimmers. Cost is $30 per clinic, and will be held
Saturday mornings, 9:00-11:00 am at the Albany Aquatic Center
in Albany, CA.

These clinics are offered by Pacific Masters Swimming to their members who live in the East Bay. Living in the East Bay, however, is not required for participation. Registration.

Off Piste Aquatic Masters Swim Camp
June 11-14

Off Piste Aquatic Masters Swim Camp June 11-14, 2020 in Vail, Colorado.
Registration is open! The 2020 Camp features Rick Colella, FINA Masters Hall of Fame member and multi-time FINA Masters World Record Holder; Susan Von der Lippe, multi-time FINA Masters World Record Holder and USMS Record Holder and All-American; and Katie Glenn, FINA Masters World Record Holder and USMS Record Holder and All-American. The 2020 Camp features include:
- twice-daily swim workouts
- specially tailored high-altitude, race specific workouts
- starts and turns clinic
- daily yoga recovery
- 1-on-1 video analysis
- 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners

Call for Coach of the Year Nominations
Deadline: February 21
Whatever the reason we start Masters swimming, many of us depend on our coaches to keep us coming back to the pool. Whether it is providing stroke instruction to help us improve or stay injury-free, workouts that are interesting and challenging, or a word of encouragement when we are feeling down, our coaches are an essential element of our swimming routine. Please consider recognizing his or her efforts by nominating your coach for the Pacific Masters Coach of the Year Award. Submissions should include a nomination letter along with a maximum of four support letters. A description of the award along with the nomination and selection process can be found here . Nominations for Pacific Masters Coach of the Year are due Friday, February 21, 2020 and should be sent to the Chair of Pacific Masters.

Championship Preview
March 27-29
We are getting excited about this year's Short Course Yards Championships being held at Morgan Hill Dennis Kennedy Aquatics Center March 27th - 29th. The venue has a long track record of hosting large championship meets for USA age group swimming and age group swimmers consider this one of the fastest pools in the Pacific region. The USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation has been instrumental in teaching adults to swim. The year 2020 opened with more than $100,000 donated by members to support classes for adults to learn to swim. Swimming Saves Lives was established as the charitable arm of USMS in 2010 and is supported by donations from USMS members and friends and has awarded nearly $700,000 since its inception.
"Adult swim lessons save lives," says Bill Brenner, chief operating officer of USMS. "We here at USMS and the foundation are committed to making more people safer around water. The SSLF grant programs and our certified adult learn-to-swim instructors are making a difference in whole families."
Recipients of the grants are from all parts of the United States.
