July 15-31

Swim hopefuls who have not shed those extra pounds from winter can join others across the nation, motivated to take the Summer Fitness Challenge brought to us by USMS.  We all know a neighbor, co-worker or family member in serious need of a nudge to get fit. Get Wet! This Summer Fitness Challenge is just for them.  Let's welcome the new faces we see on our teams this summer.  This Challenge is for all swimmers and benefits Swimming Saves Lives.
Santa Cruz Open Water Weekend
Saturday, August 3: 45th Annual Roughwater 1 mile Swim
Sunday, August 4: The Cruz Cruise 2 mile Swim

The Saturday 1 mile ocean swim goes around the Santa Cruz pier. The Sunday 2 mile ocean swim goes around the same pair, loops around the other side and comes back. The water is usually 58-61 degrees! Both are fun and very popular swims even if you're numb. The Saturday swim is one of the bigger events and is started in two waves: under 40 years old and 40 years old and over. The Sunday swim is smaller and very low key; it is NOT for novice swimmers.

Rinconada Needs Our Help

The Rindonada Masters  team has taken cost-cutting measures, but are hoping to increase their roster so they can cover water costs, open more lanes and keep the team going to mark their 47th anniversary!
Please visit their  GoFundMe-Rinconada  and help raise $15,000 to keep them in the pool until January. Any amount will help!

Coaches Carol Macpherson and Terri Baxter-Smith as well as the entire Rinconada swimming community thank you.
