Santa Cruz Open Water Weekend
Saturday, August 3: 45th Annual Roughwater 1 mile Swim
Sunday, August 4: The Cruz Cruise 2 mile Swim
The Saturday 1 mile ocean swim goes around the Santa Cruz pier. The Sunday 2 mile ocean swim goes around the same pair, loops around the other side and comes back. The water is usually 58-61 degrees! Both are fun and very popular swims even if you're numb. The Saturday swim is one of the bigger events and is started in two waves: under 40 years old and 40 years old and over. The Sunday swim is smaller and very low key; it is NOT for novice swimmers.

Pacific Masters Relay Meet & Social
August 25
Some things we do for fitness. Other things we do for competition or social gratification. Yet what we hold dear are good times and fun shared with others. At this
Pacific Masters Relay Meet & Social, it's bound to happen in a split second - strangers becoming the best of friends over a race. We want you to keep this event in mind and hold the date on your calendar, Sunday, August 25. Good things are coming your way.

5K/10K ePostal Nationals
now until September 25
This event must be swum in a 50 meter pool. There are not many of these in the Bay Area. As you can see from the title of this article, there is a 5K and a 10K event. There also is a relay event in which the total times of 3 or 4 swimmers are added up. Find out more

Heather Farm pools in Walnut Creek
The Heather Farm pools in Walnut Creek have hosted many wonderful Pacific Masters events over the years. The City of Walnut Creek is considering replacing the current 3 pool facility - including a teaching pool, a 50 meter by 25 yard pool, and a 25 meter diving well - with a 25 meter pool plus play/teaching pool. This would negatively impact the entire Aquatic community in the Bay Area. Please read and sign this petition so our voices are heard! If you have questions about this petition or the Walnut Creek Aquatic Foundation, please contact Chris Ottati, secretary of the foundation.

Pacific Masters Meeting
