USMS Summer Nationals
August 7-11
The 2019 U.S.Masters Swimming Summer National Championship will be held Aug. 7-11 at the newly renovated
Marguerite Aquatic Center in Mission Viejo, Calif. There's still time to get back in the water and make this a fitness goal for this summer!
USMS members interested in participating are encouraged to enter as soon as possible to guarantee their entry. The entry deadline is
July 8 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. Late entries will not be accepted.

Remembering Don Hill
Don Hill, a longtime member of The Olympic Club, former Michigan national champion
and United States Masters Swimming (USMS) champion has gone onto greener pastures and blue waters. He died Thursday, May 23, at the age of 87.
Hill, who married USA Olympic swimmer Jane Swagerty
, toasted his life with champagne the night before he died, according to sources close to the family. He was a member of USMS in its infancy and will be sorely missed.

Try Masters Swimming Week
June 1-10
Try Masters Swimming week kicks off on Saturday, June 1, and lasts through Monday, June 10. This
special initiative is designed to bring more people into the great sport of swimming. Bring two of your friends to practice that week and share the many
benefits of membership.

Rinconada Needs Our Help
The Rinconada Masters team has taken cost-cutting measures, but are
hoping to increase their roster so they can cover water costs, open more lanes and keep the team going to mark their 47th anniversary!
Now is a good time to "Try Masters Swimming" at Rinconada
Try-outs will be held June 10-15.
Meanwhile, you can visit

and help raise $15,000 to keep them in the pool until January. Please donate! Any amount will help.

CALM Seeking Assistant Coaches
Cal Aquatic Masters (CALM) of UC Berkeley Rec Sports is still seeking capable, energetic assistant coaches for their Masters workouts at all times of the day during the summer. Workouts will take place at one of many UC Berkeley pools. For more information

Swim Night at the Ballpark
June 18
Join the Oakland A's for their annual Swim Night at the ballpark on Tuesday, June 18th at 7:00 p.m. The event is attended by more than a thousand swimmers from the Bay Area each year for some fellowship outside of the pool. Each special ticket comes with an Oakland A's swim towel and your seat as the A's take on the Baltimore Orioles. The night also features a towel drive benefiting Oakland shelters.
Tickets are available at www.athletics.com/swim. Groups of 15 or more can contact Justin Jabs at 510-746-4440 or jjabs@athletics.com to receive a discount and block seating. Be sure you buy your ticket at that website or over the phone to get a swim towel. We'll see you at Swim Night.
