Renew Your USMS Team Membership
October 1-31
October and November are renewal months for Pacific Master clubs and members! Starting October 1 through October 31, clubs are strongly encouraged to renew their membership so that their members can renew starting November 1. Clubs who do not renew this month will have 2016 members renewing as unattached until the club has renewed. It is confusing for new and old members to renew and not be able to find their club of choice, so please be on time. The good news is that registration fees for 2016 remain unchanged: $55 for club memberships and $52 for individual membership. Please direct any questions to Charlene O'Brien at
administrator@pacificmasters.org .

7th Annual DAM Brute Squad Postal Swim
November 1-November
Are you a brute? If not, become one by participating in DAM's Brute Squad Postal Championship. DAM has been challenging members for many years to be a brute ... what's a brute? Well, the Brute Squad event takes the three most difficult events in swimming: the 200 butterfly, the 400 IM, and the 1650 freestyle, and combines them into a single event! Start the clock. Swim a 200 fly. Then a 400 IM. Follow that up with a 1650 free. Stop the clock. Ready? Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Information and Registration

From the Editor
Thoughts from First-Time Delegates to the USMS National Convention
An absolutely exhilarating first-time experience for this newbie. Loved the stimulation, the jewels of knowledge, the thinking heads, hard work and wit. Definitely a top-ten swim experience for me.-Carol Nip
I just wanted to say a quick thank-you to everyone for a great experience at my first USMS convention. It was a pleasure meeting all of you, and I greatly appreciate everyone who opened my eyes even more to see the ways of this amazing organization. What an honor to get to see Nancy Ridout's amazing accomplishments awarded at my first convention, not to mention the others previously honored in our LMSC.-Clare Rudd
What other convention is there where you are up before 5:00 AM, socializing at 5:30 AM before a 6:00 AM work-out (kinda like the day's warm-up)? Then all day long you find yourself chasing from one committee meeting to another - broken up only by the House Of Delegates sessions (all of this was kinda like the Main set). Then there was "warm-down" that took you to the Hospitality Room.-Jim Kennedy
As a first timer to USMS convention, meeting those from the national level and those from around the country
was like going to the mother ship. It was an amazing experience to spend a few days with people as passionate about swimming as I am, and (for the most part) all VOLUNTEERS! The dedication and hard work of our organization of volunteers is truly awesome.-Karen Harris
