Anyone can submit an article for consideration in the Pacific Masters Update. We appreciate new information and ideas. If you have an idea for an article,  please submit it no later than Wednesday, July 5th for the next Update. Email it to Update Editors.    
Summer Long Course Championships
July 14-16 

Whether your summer workout routine is in full gear or not,, set your sights on  PacMasters Long Course Championships at Gunderson High School in San Jose.  Never competed in a 50-meter pool? Not a problem.  Here's your opportunity. Information and Registration
Santa Cruz Open Water Weekend
July 30-31

Santa Cruz is the place to be for the 44th Annual Roughwater 1 Mile Swim & The Cruz Cruise - Santa Cruz 2 Mile Ocean Swim. Information and online entries can be found here. 

USMS Summer USMS Championship
August 2-6

The Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center is located in the heart of the University of Minnesota. The Center has hosted numerous Championship meets including the 2016 U.S. Open Championships, the 2016 Junior National Championships, the Arena Pro Series (every year since 2008), and the 2014 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships to name just a few. The competition pool is 50-meters x 25 yards with eight 9-foot wide lanes and Spectrum Xcellerator starting platforms equipped with wedges and backstroke ledges. Raised, permanent seating on both sides of the pool accommodates 1300 spectators.

Online Entry is encouraged and provides immediate entry confirmation. Online registration will close at midnight Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time on July 5, 2017.

DAM End of Summer Splash
August 5

Not able to attend the USMS LC Nationals in Minnesota but still want to finish your long course season with official times? The DAM End of Summer Splash will be held at the Charles Brooks Swim Center in Woodland on Saturday, August 5. There will be an interesting assortment of swim events to choose from including men's, women's, and mixed 400 Medley and 400 Free relays. The relays are held so infrequently that just competing almost guarantees a Top Ten USMS rankingInformation and registration.
FINA World Masters Championships
August 8-20, Budapest 

 
The deadline for entries is June 29th. Entry instructions can be found here. This meet contains open water and long course pool swimming events.

We are in the waning moments of being able to register for the FINA World Championships in Budapest. If you are on the fence about whether or not you want to go, check out the Facebook Page to see the beautiful new Duna Arena facility and pools, and the gorgeous Lake Balaton where the open water 3k will be contested. Over 10,000 competitors are expected to attend. Swimming in a world championship affords one of those moments in life that can really inspire you to cherish your swimming life.
