FROM THE CO-DIRECTORS

Dear Colleagues,

As we transition into year two of CMHIS, our Hub team gathered in person to plan and reflect on the challenges many are navigating: funding uncertainty, planning with stretched resources, and the ongoing challenges of sustaining our work. These realities are front of mind for us as we think about how to best support you in providing care to your vibrant communities in this upcoming year.

We have reviewed your feedback and our recent national needs assessment results, met with our Advisory Board and held conversations with people in the field. Our aim is to bring you tools and learning opportunities that are relevant and grounded in your day-to-day experiences.

At the same time, one thing remains clear: effective mental health care doesn't implement itself. We all know working within strained mental health systems is challenging, but you are not alone on this journey.

If you wonder how you can get involved, have an implementation project idea, need a helping hand, or just want to talk through a challenge with our team, we're just an email or a support request away.

Thank you for being part of our community and for everything you do to make a difference in yours. We look forward to connecting with you!

Warm regards,

Christina, Lydia and your Pacific West Hub team

IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE HIGHLIGHT:

Patient-Reported Outcome Measures

PROMs banner

As part of our focus on using clinical progress to guide treatment, we’re highlighting the importance of collecting Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in Measurement-Based Care (MBC).

PROMs are standardized tools that allow clients to report on their own health, functioning, and well-being, helping providers tailor care and monitor progress over time.

Better data leads to better care. Collecting PROMs helps:

  • Strengthen client engagement and collaboration in treatment.
  • Inform clinical decision-making in real time.
  • Improve outcomes by ensuring care is responsive to client needs.

Explore the National Repository of PROMs on our website, which compiles measures that support evidence-based, person-centered mental health care. The repository is intended to be a starting point for measure selection; other patient-reported measures not included here may also be useful in measurement-based care.
