Children have the opportunity to read aloud to dogs from Quad City Canines. This is great practice for kids and helps them build their vocabulary and self-confidence. No registration is required.
Pick up a bag of supplies to make crafts once a month, while they last. This class will take you through the process of downloading the Libby app, then searching for, checking out, reading or listening to, and returning a digital title. We’ll end with a question and answer period. These unique activity kits are designed to be used by someone with memory care needs and a caregiver. A limited supply of kits are available on a first come, first served basis. They include an art activity or game along with conversation starters. These kits are free and are made possible by the support of the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.

During this drop-in program, you can stop by with your device and our staff will answer your questions. Bring your device, your library card, and your app store login information with you, and you’ll leave with a book or audiobook downloaded and ready to go!

The Memory Circle offers a relaxing and comfortable environment for adults living with dementia and their caregivers to come and enjoy an hour of stimulating activities, socialization, and reminiscence. Activities and topics will vary from month to month, so there will always be new things to discuss and memories to share. Bettendorf Public Library’s Memory Circle is offered in collaboration with the Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Memory Circle is sponsored by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
