COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE: SUMMER 2018

Summer is a great time for students to look ahead and start planning next steps! College Knowledge is a resource that includes all the most frequently requested topics about options after high school.

College Knowledge can give students of all grades a head start in seizing opportunities. Sophomores can start researching types of colleges and apprenticeships. Juniors can get ready for their pivotal year by learning about financing college: FAFSA, WASFA, College Bound, and other scholarships. Seniors can familiarize themselves with the resources available and think through how to make decisions that are right for them.

COLLEGE & CAREER DATA DIVE

Data from several high schools in South Seattle and South King County shows that only 60 percent of 12th graders report feeling knowledgeable about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) was not included in this survey question, but will be included in future surveys.

Dive deeper into the data, and the stories behind the numbers, in the Road Map Project's latest Results Report.

DiscoverU encourages our community to come together and promote college and career exploration for the region's youth. Through fun activities in and out of school, students throughout Seattle and South King County will have opportunities to explore their futures. DiscoverU puts student interests at the center and helps connect their aspirations with the many pathways to get there.
